Summary

Youth Unlimited Gospel Outreach, Inc. ("YUGO") is an inter-denominational mission organization whose primary purpose is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ by involving young people and adults in foreign missions through a ministry of evangelism and teaching in Mexico. YUGO is also the Spanish word for "yoke," a reminder of the One who said "Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me" (Matt 11:29). YUGO began in the late 1950's and was incorporated as a non-profit evangelistic organization in 1965. Today, YUGO's most visible ministry is the participation of over 2700 North Americans (primarily teenagers) each year on evangelistic outreaches in Mexico. Mexicans who receive Christ as a result of this ministry are then discipled through the ministry's church planting efforts. YUGO is also involved in the establishing of Bible Institutes that train Mexican pastors. This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

Youth Unlimited Gospel Outreach, Inc.'s Statement of Faith is

We do affirm and declare our belief in the Christian faith and do set forth the following:

We believe in the Bible, as the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts.

We believe in the triune Godhead, in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, executing distinct but harmonious offices in the works of creation, providence and redemption.

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and regenerating, baptizing, sealing and indwelling all true believers.

We believe in the personality of Satan and his present control over unregenerate man.

We believe in the fall and lost estate of man, whose total depravity makes necessary his new birth.

We believe in the reconciliation of man to God through faith in the substitutionary death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

We believe in the resurrection of the saved unto everlasting life and blessedness in Heaven, and the resurrection of the unsaved unto everlasting punishment in Hell.

We believe in the Church, the invisible Body of Christ, bound together by the Holy Spirit, consisting only of those who are born again, for whom He now makes intercession in Heaven, and for whom He shall come again.

We believe in Christ's great commission to the Church to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature, baptizing and teaching those who believe.

History [ Back to top ]

YUGO began in the late 1950's and was incorporated as a non-profit evangelistic organization in 1965. Today, YUGO's most visible ministry is the participation of over 2700 North Americans (primarily teenagers) each year on evangelistic outreaches in Mexico. Since 1964, thousands of young people and adults have experienced the challenge of cross-cultural ministry through YUGO's outreach opportunities.

Ministry Needs [ Back to top ]

We need church planters, Bible Institute teachers, office staff, Sunday School curriculum developers, Christian Education trainers, graphic arts specialists, film evangelists, and construction ministry coordinators. We are also looking for people with education and experience in youth ministry, camp ministry and church administration.
Due to our relatively small size, YUGO's corporate culture allows for a fair amount of flexibility and innovation. Of course, all of these positions are faith-supported, meaning you will be responsible for raising your own support.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
