Summary
WorldVenture is a pioneering force in fulfilling Christ's commission to the final frontiers of the harvest through vital partnerships with churches at home and abroad. In 1994, the organization legally described as the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society formally adopted the use of the name CBInternational and then in 2006 changed its name to WorldVenture. Energized by the advent of the 21st century, and empowered by the Spirit of God, WorldVenture's vision is a worldwide partnership of churches fulfilling Christ's commission by evangelizing the lost, establishing churches, and equipping leaders. In accomplishing this WorldVenture is committed to the utilization of biblically based, culturally appropriate strategies, which result in healthy, reproducing New Testament churches. Nine strategic priorities: reaching the least evangelized people of the world; discipling a new nation; mobilizing national Christians for effective ministry; planting vibrant local churches; offering help to the poor and suffering; entering restricted access nations; evangelizing the great urban centers of the world; anticipating the open doors of tomorrow; applying innovation to the mission strategies of tomorrow. This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
WorldVenture uses the following to express its Statement of Faith:
1. We believe that the Bible is God's Word, that it was written by men divinely and uniquely inspired, that it is absolutely trustworthy and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2. We believe in God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
3. We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sin of the world by His death on the cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, His high priestly intercession for His people, and His personal, visible return to the world according to His promise.
4. We believe that all men by nature and by choice are sinners, but that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16, KJV). We believe, therefore, that those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will rejoice forever in God's presence and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God.
5. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from God to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.
6. We believe in the Church-a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that to these visible churches were committed for observance "till He comes" the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, and that God has laid upon these churches the task of persuading a lost world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master. We believe that human betterment and social improvement are essential products of the gospel.
7. We believe that every human being is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith.
8. We believe that each church is independent and autonomous, and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that, therefore, Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from the dictation or patronage of the other.
It began in prayer.
In a deep passion to bring the love of God to the nations.
In an unwavering commitment to the truth of the Scriptures.
World War II was raging, but there in Chicago, on Monday, May 24th, 1943, at 1:43 in the afternoon, about 50 pastors and other concerned people gathered at the Central YMCA auditorium, 19 South LaSalle Street in Chicago. And they prayed. On through the afternoon they discussed their concerns, and they prayed.
At that time, just as the world was engulfed in war, churches were in conflict over the historic beliefs of the Christian faith. As some churches turned toward theological "liberalism," questioning the essential beliefs of Christianity, others sought to "conserve" the truth of the Bible.
These "conservatives" were not comfortable in churches that questioned the authority of Scripture or the deity of Christ. They felt uneasy with "Christian" colleges and seminaries that sought to instill doubt in those they educated. They questioned the propriety of sending missionaries through agencies that did not share such basic Christian beliefs. These conservatives established churches, schools, publishing companies, and missionary organizations which are still thriving today. Still proclaiming the truth of the Scriptures and the self-sacrificing love of God.
It was in this historical context, wrestling with these questions of faith, that those 50 concerned Christian leaders met that May afternoon in 1943 to discuss their options, and to pray.
There, on their knees in prayer, they took a step of faith.
The Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society was born, incorporated seven months later, to assist churches in sending, funding, and caring for missionaries.
Today, with 700 workers in more than 60 areas of the world, CBInternational is expanding the harvest, taking the love of God to the nations.
WorldVenture has the following needs:
The New CB Center for International Ministries Littleton, Colorado - contribute to the "Place a Brick" program.
Mr. Page is the literature ministry arm of CBInternational. Each year tens of thousands of dollars are allocated around the world to pay for much needed Christian Bibles and literature. Currently CBI is attempting to raise $50,000 for urgent literature needs.
The Frontier Task Force is CBI's initiative to reach the least evangelized peoples of the 10/40 Window. Funding is needed for deployment of new workers into new target areas across North Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia. We are also in need of start up funding for new initiatives in closed countries.
LAMI is CBI's eight-week pre-field orientation program for new missionaries, which effectively utilizes adult education principles of experiential learning and mentor ship in an urban context. New missionaries learn language acquisition skills, cross-cultural communication skills, and ministry skills. Also included is emphasis on spiritual growth and relationships. The funding is desperately needed to offset the cost for new missionaries to allow them the access to good training, and yet the ability to get to the field as soon as possible.
Sao Paulo, Brazil has over 500,000 homeless street children. In the midst of this squalor and desperation, CBI missionaries provide schooling, clothing, and basic necessities hundreds of these street kids on a regular basis. Funding is needed to expand this project and to increase its impact in this needy part of the world.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
