Summary
An interdenominational missions organization, World Gospel Mission disciples believers to become missions-active Christians. WGM partners with individuals, small groups, college groups, and churches to intentionally address the physical and spiritual needs of individuals and communities.
With over 250 missionaries and support staff serving on five continents, WGM works in a variety of ministry areas in order to spread the gospel to a lost and hurting world. While the focus is often on enabling national Christians to form self-propagating, self-supporting, and self-governing churches, WGM missionaries also serve in evangelism, discipleship, education, medical care, community health and development, agriculture, children’s and youth ministries, communications, literature, and more.
World Gospel Mission is a faith-based nonprofit organization, and contributions are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. WGM is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and The Mission Exchange.

Serving God in holiness and righteousness, World Gospel Mission connects in ministry with churches worldwide to make disciples of Jesus Christ among all nations.
World Gospel Mission will minister through preaching, teaching and healing ministries. World Gospel Mission will assist in forming culturally relevant congregations comprised of maturing disciples of Jesus Christ who will evangelize and reproduce themselves within their own cultures and across cultural boundaries (2Timothy 2:2) and call believers to the deeper work of God in the human heart of being cleansed from all sin and filled with the Holy Spirit by faith (1Thessalonians 4:3).
Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]
Internationalization
WGM plans to significantly increase the number of international missionary staff, headquarters personnel, Board of Directors members, and field leaders by 2015. This is key to maintaining sustainable ministries and multiplying efforts to share the gospel. WGM looks forward to the joys and challenges of working as an internationally led organization.
Compassionate Ministries
Ministries that reach out to the whole personphysically and spirituallyhave long been a feature of WGM’s work. Now, WGM seeks to integrate the concept of whole-person transformation into the heart and soul of all fields using a program called Community Health Evangelism (CHE). Working with the local church and local community leaders, WGM will help to facilitate community outreach. WGM is in the process of training all missionaries in CHE principles and appointing regional coordinators for Compassionate Ministries for each of our five regions.
Champion Migration Strategy
As a faith-based organization, WGM relies on faithful supporters, or champions, who understand and are passionate about the cause of worldwide missions. In relating to supporters, WGM adopted a strategy of transformational discipleship called Champion Migration Strategy (CMS). By engaging with a supporter on a deeper level that goes far beyond a financial transaction, both the supporter and WGM are enriched by the relationship. The Champion Migration Strategy continues to impact how we recruit, communicate, and train.
Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
We believe...
- in the absolute authority of the Bible
- In one God, eternally existent in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
- in the full humanity and the full divinity of Jesus Christ.
- that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is essential for the salvation of the human soul.
- in the present and personal ministry of the Holy Spirit, purifying and enabling Christians to live holy lives.
- all people have sinned.
- God created man in His own image to reflect His glory.
- that the Church is the body of Christ made up of all who trust in and obey Him.
- that the Church’s purpose is to worship God, reach those without Christ, and nurture believers.
- in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in the resurrection of all who believe in Him to life eternal.
- in Jesus Christ’s personal return in power and glory.
World Gospel Mission was founded in 1910 when the Christian Holiness Association established the Missionary Department for the Promotion of Holiness and sent out their first missionaries, Reverend and Mrs. Cecil Troxel, Reverend and Mrs. Woodford Taylor, and two national Chinese workers, to serve in China.
World Gospel Mission now has over 300 missionaries and support staff serving on five continents and in more than 20 countries. Fields of service include the American Indian Field, Argentina, Bolivia, El Salvador, Haiti, Haitian American Ministries, Honduras, Hungary, India, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Muslim Ministries, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, St. Croix, Stockton Peniel, Sudan, Taiwan, Uganda, and Ukraine.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
