Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

Teen Mania Ministries uses the following to communicate its faith:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost: the saved to the resurrection of life and the lost to damnation.
We believe in creating unity within the Body of Christ.

History [ Back to top ]

1986 Teen Mania was founded by Ron and Katie Luce. They traveled from city to city to share a passionate message that met teenagers where they were at. As the meetings became more frequent and experienced increased attendance, support and interest grew as well. One by one, parents, corporate executives, and ministry leaders were inspired by a challenge to reach a generation of young leaders. Ron and Katie continued to host the Get Ready! rallies. In each city, teens were provided with a face-to-face encounter with God and opportunities to go on mission trips. Eventually the cafeterias, gyms, and churches that were home to the Get Ready! rallies were no longer sufficient as attendance exploded.

1990 - 1991 Teen Mania hosted two-day rallies in 13 cities across the USA. That year, they saw attendance reach 8,000. The number of events doubled and the rallies were renamed to Acquire The Fire (ATF). Compelling speakers and musical groups joined Ron on stage and a state-of-the-art video and light system was added. The first season of ATF attracted 20,000 youth.

1995 - 1999 Acquire The Fire hosted its first international convention in Ontario, Canada and drew a crowd of 3,500. In 1999 Acquire The Fire hosted its first major dome event, with 73,000 young people packed the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.

2000 - 2002 StandUP!, also held at the Silverdome, brought teenagers to their knees as Ron Luce and former President Gerald Ford challenged teens to make their lives count by living to a higher standard. Acquire The Fire has hosted similar StandUP events in Florida and Indiana.

Over the past ten years, the small crowds of teenagers in churches and gyms has grown to a total audience of one million in 2001. With this dramatic increase in attendance, Acquire The Fire started hosting dual weekend events where two conventions run simultaneously. With cutting edge delivery and a powerful and relevant message, Acquire The Fire continues to impact the lives of young people everywhere.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
