Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
Student Ministries expresses its statement of faith as follows:
SMI affirms the following statement of faith to be a declaration of the firm stand of SMI upon the Bible as the written Word of God, to be the rule of faith and conduct for the objectives and activities of SMI, and to be a criterion for the acceptance of all personnel into SMI.
1. We believe the Bible to be the only divinely inspired, infallible, trustworthy, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that salvation is appropriated by faith alone.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling power the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all who are believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Student Ministries was incorporated in July 1974 in the State of Oregon. In its first 25 years, Student Ministries has approved for ministries about 2300 seminarians who have attended more than 140 different seminaries and graduate schools, and it has distributed about $32 million in support of their ministries.
Student Ministries expresses its needs as follows:
Our goal is to find ministry partners who will support the administrative costs of the organization so that this deduction will no longer be required, thus allowing the contractor to receive the full benefit from the support they have raised. While donations of larger amounts are appreciated, it is the host of $25, $50, and $100 continual monthly gifts that enable us to continue our ministry. SMI is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Therefore, all donations to SMI are tax deductible.
