The Persecution Project Foundation (PPF) was founded for the express purpose of collecting and disseminating information about the worldwide incidence of Christian persecution, with particular focus on Africa. From its inception, Persecution Project Foundation has endeavored to equip and mobilize the grassroots to take action in support of the persecuted church.
Toward that end PPF has published articles and interviews in The Washington Times, The American Spectator, Citizens Intelligence Digest, the bi-monthly Issues and Strategy Bulletin, Insight Magazine, Denver Post and many other publications.
In addition, Persecution Project Foundation has recently released for television broadcast and video distribution the 51 minute documentary program Sudan: The Hidden Holocaust (STHH). Filmed on location in central and southern Sudan, STHH is the first professional-quality comprehensive documentary to be released on the triumph of the faithful in the midst of horrific persecution in Sudan.
The purpose of the organization is as follows:
- To inform and motivate American Christians toward prayer and action on behalf of their persecuted brethren.
- To champion the cause of the persecuted in America’s Christian and secular media.
- To inform and involve churches, pastors, educators, broadcasters, journalists, organization leaders, foundation administrators, government officials and business executives.
- To represent the persecuted and suffering before official bodies in America and abroad.
- To assist in the direct delivery of food, clothing, medicines, Bibles and other spiritual and material aid.
- To encourage prayer support and other intercession from the church.
Persecution Project Foundation uses the following to express its vision:
PPF was founded to function as a “servant” to proactively change the circumstances of persecuted Christians around the world with immediate emphasis on the African continent. The mission of Persecution Project Foundation involves the direct and indirect intercession on behalf of the persecuted and suffering. Galatians 6:2
Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]
During the past two decades radical Islamist forces have killed an estimated 2 million Christians in Sudan. Lat year Persecution Project in partnership with Educational Media Corp’s Global Endeavor Ministry helped establish RADIO PEACE Sudan’s premiere Christian radio station. Today Radio Peace is providing daily broadcasts of the Gospel of Jesus Christ including music, news, evangelistic and discipleship programming in seven indigenous languages. Until recently radical Islamist propaganda dominated the Sudanese airwaves. Now, with the establishment of Radio Peace, the Light of the Gospel is penetrating all parts of Sudan. In southern and central Sudan conditions are very primitive and most families lack radios. An entire community may gather around one radio set to hear programming. “Radios for Sudan” is a project of Persecution Project foundation to distribute 10,000 self-powered (hand crank and solar powered) SW/AM/FM radios to families and communities in Sudan.
Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
Persecution Project gives its statement of faith as the following
We believe and affirm the following: the inspiration and inerrancy of the Scripture; in the Holy Trinity consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit; in the sinful, lost condition of the human race, the reality of Heaven and Hell; in the virgin birth, the substitutionary death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ; in His present ministry of intercession and His imminent return for His church; in salvation by Grace alone, through Faith alone in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ; in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit; in the Body of Christ (the church universal), in the local church and the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
The Persecution Project Foundation was founded in 1997 and started to collect and disseminate information about the persecution of Christians in Africa.
PPF founder, Brad Phillips, originally conceived of putting together a series of documentaries on a number of different countries. His thoughts were focused on Christians and that Christians are the ones who should care about this project the most.
In fact it was David Drye, a Christian businessman from North Carolina, who came up with the seed money for the Sudan program and was the one who said to PPF founder Brad Phillips, "Brad, you've really got to start out with Sudan, because it's a country where Christians are being told to confess the Muslim religion or don't eat. Confess Islam or be thrown into jail, or be sold into slavery, or be crucified." In the Nuba Mountains where PPF has visited many times there have been a number of crucifixions since 1998.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
