Purpose [ Back to top ]

Ninos de Mexico ("Ninos") was incorporated as Children of Mexico, Inc. and is a direct support missionary project of the Independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. The ministry is engaged in the evangelism of Mexico and in the providing of care to some of the helpless, orphaned, abandoned and homeless children of Mexico. Children are brought into a Christian home to be loved, fed, clothed and educated. Ninos currently operates 4 homes, a K-12 school, a medical clinic, outreach to unreached peoples' groups, and local church work.

Of the four homes, the first, Casa Genesis, is located in San Vicente, just outside of México City. It is the mission's original facility and now serves as a "dorm" for youth ages 18 and older. Ninos now also operate a K-12 school at this location to better serve the children. The second home, Casa Agape, is located in the nearby town of Huexotla and houses a family of 16. The third home, Casa Bethel, is located in the city of Texcoco. It houses a family 15 and is also the location of the mission's medical clinic. The newest home, Casa Esperanza, is located in San Vicente and houses a family of 18 people.

Ninos operates the "HUGS Program" (Helping the Unwanted Get Started), a child sponsorship program, which was developed to provide a direct link for a child in Niños de México. Another fundraising program is the "I-Help Club" which is a dedicated group of people who agree to send $10, or more, up to four times per year for emergencies. The "Medical Relief Fund" has been established so that one day we can pay all of the medical bills for our homes and the expenses of our clinic and mobile clinic outreach. The "Education Fund" was established so that the children in Niños de México will have the opportunity to complete their education.

This organization is a nonprofit, contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Mission Statement [ Back to top ]

Ninos expresses its goals as follows:

Ninos' goal is to provide for the physical, educational and spiritual needs of orphaned, homeless, neglected or abandoned Mexican children through the establishment of orphanages, educational centers, work centers and health centers throughout the country of Mexico where such children may be received, aided, educated and cared for.

To assist New Testament Christian Churches in their evangelistic efforts and to help in the establishment of New Testament Christian Churches throughout the country of Mexico.

Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]

  • Ninos de Mexico has four homes which take care of children who have been abandoned, abused, or orphaned.
  • Ninos’ private Christian school is one of the newer areas of their ministry and was started to take care of the special needs of their children.
  • Ninos’ medical outreach to the Indian village of Chilapa in the mountains of Puebla has opened the door to the gospel being shared there for the first time. Last fall they planted a national minister and his family there to preach and teach on a daily basis.
  • Ninos’ church work that they started years ago has been taken over by the local congregation. Today, it is one of the largest Christian church congregations in areas with over 1,000,000 people without a church.
  • Ninos’ started a planting ministry several years ago. It was established so that they could help some of their children get started in ministry in Mexico. They provide supervision and guidance and finances if needed. They have two “plants” at the moment.

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

Ninos de Mexico subscribes to the following doctrinal statement:

We believe that God is the creator of this world and that the Bible is His divinely inspired Word! ...that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world to be born of a virgin, to live a sinless life and to die on the cross as a sacrifice for sin!...that on the third day He arose from the dead, appeared to His disciples and, after forty days, ascended into Heaven! ...that He sent the Holy Spirit into the world to implement the ministry of reconciliation through the preaching of the Gospel, convicting men of their sins and inspiring faith! ...that all men have sinned and that, in order to obtain forgiveness, a man must believe in God, believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and must submit to Him obediently in repentance, confession of faith, baptism and Christian living! ...that God will one day judge the world and those who have rejected Him will be condemned to eternal Hell while those who have accepted Him as Lord and have been forgiven will spend eternity with Him in Heaven! ...that we are commissioned to convey that message to a lost world through the preaching of the Gospel, empowered by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit

History [ Back to top ]

    1966
A young couple from Missouri made a trip to Mexico to assess how they could best work to meet needs and evangelize the people. They were met in Mexico City by veteran missionary Dean Cary. After much prayer they decided to begin a program that would later be called “Niños de Mexico”.

    January 1967
The couple moved to Mexico and the work began. They received children into their rented home in Mexico City while they searched for a permanent facility. Late in 1967 property was located and purchased in San Vicente, Chicoloapan, just outside of the city. The property had a small three-bedroom house and another one-room building.

    February 1968
The move was made from Mexico City. The “family” had grown to 25 and there were “wall-to-wall” children in the new home. An overall development plan was formulated and construction was started on the building that would later become known as Casa Genesis.

    1972
Don and Vi Bader joined the work as Associate Directors. Their time was divided between Mexico and the United States.

    June 1975
A second property was bought in Huexotla, a village about seven miles north of San Vicente. Jack and Vicki Yarnell accepted the ministry as house parents for the new home, Casa Agape.

    1978
The young couple who started the ministry returned to the U.S. and Don Bader became the Director of the work. Shortly after, Keith Bader, Don's son, joined the work as Business Manager, later becoming President of the non-profit Niños de México corporation. Jack and Vicki Yarnell took over the combined duties of caring for the children from both homes with assistance from the Baders.

    1978
An office was opened in Union, Missouri to provide communication with U.S. churches and take care of the business end of this expanding ministry. It is from these offices that the overall work is now directed.

Ministry Needs [ Back to top ]

Ninos always needs love and prayers from supporters. We need prayer for income because inflation rises almost daily in Mexico. If you combine that with the decrease of the American dollar it averages out to be a decrease of 41% buying power.

We also need prayers for our children who are growing up in a pagan society. Our house parents need wisdom and patience in working with the abandoned and abused children in Mexico.

    CAN YOU HELP?

Many individuals and congregations choose to support us as a MONTHLY PART OF THEIR MISSION GIVING. By doing this, we have a regular base of support to budget our daily expenses.

Our HUGS (Helping the Unwanted Get Started) program is very simple. An individual, couple, family, class or congregation agrees to help supply the needs of one of our children by sending at least $20.00 per month. You are sent a packet about the young person with a recent photograph. Letters you write to your child will be translated and you will receive personal letters translated into English.

The I-HELP CLUB is a dedicated group of people who have agreed to send at least an additional $10.00, up to four times each year, when there is a special need. Many years we have not even sent out two letters, but the moral support of knowing these people stand by ready to help really gets us through the "slim" times.

By contributing at least $25.00 to our EDUCATION FUND each month, you can help support our school and send our older children to technical school or the university. We want to provide the education needed to serve God in many ways.

A great way to help is to organize or become part of a SHORT-TERM MISSION GROUP. These groups have up to 12 people, there are a limited number of weeks each year that can be scheduled. The money is raised by the group for their work project. Individuals in groups not only support financially, but they become personally involved. We schedule these through our Missouri office 6 to 12 months in advance.

Some people choose to MENTION US IN THEIR WILL or donate TANGIBLE PROPERTY. Estate planning is one way of allowing your physical possessions to continue to work for God after you have gone to be with Him.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
