Summary

IN Network (formerly International Needs, Inc.) is an interdenominational Christian evangelistic organization. The purpose of the organization is to provide ministry and financial assistance to affiliated organizations throughout the world in order to carry on Christian missionary work through evangelism, vocational training schools, orphanages, literature distribution, and disaster relief. The ministry also supports individual missionaries, a child sponsorship program and Bible College students. Major programs include: US Ministry - To raise the profile of IN Network in the US, arrange national ministry visits, raise financial support for ministries, liaise with prayer partners, sponsors, and donors, participate in the worldwide partnership of IN; International Ministry - To support the undertaking of numerous ministries worldwide, including: church planting, schools, medical clinics, care for the handicapped, vocational training, orphanage care, Christian publishing, and linking with other groups of similar concerns.

I.N. Network USA (formerly International Needs, Inc.) is an interdenominational Christian evangelistic organization. The purpose of I.N. Network USA is to provide ministry and financial assistance to affiliated organizations throughout the world so that affiliated ministries can carry on Christian missionary work - evangelism, vocational training schools, orphanages, literature distribution, and disaster relief. I.N. Network USA also supports individual missionaries and Bible College students.

The “US Ministry” was developed to raise the profile of IN Network in the United States, arrange for national ministry visits, raise financial support for ministries, and liaise with supporters (prayer partners, sponsors, and donors). The “International Ministry” was established to coordinate relationships between IN Netowrk and the numerous affiliated ministries worldwide - church planting, schools, medical clinics, care for the handicapped, vocational training, orphanage care, Christian publishing, etc.

The ministries IN Network supports must be indigenous or "home grown," have the central aim of winning people to Christ, have the support and endorsement of Christian evangelical leadership in the country concerned, sound stewards so that donations are properly applied. This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

I.N. Network USA has projects underway in partnership with three government agencies: AusAID - Australia, VASS - New Zealand, and CIDA - Canada.

Ghana: In 1991 IN Network Ghana commenced a project to emancipate the women and girls enslaved by the cultural practice referred to as Fetish Slavery along the southeastern coast of Ghana. In the past two years IN Network Ghana has been the catalyst for many villages abolishing this practice and emancipating over 3,300 women. In June 1997 in partnership with IN Network Australia and with the assistance of an AusAID contribution of $A36, 625, IN Ghana commenced the Micro-credit scheme for the Volta region, Ghana. Its goal is to educate freed Fetish Slaves and other village women in the rural communities, to facilitate their empowerment towards income generation, to alleviate poverty, and to make them self-reliant. In the first three years of the project, it is expected that over 650 women will be assisted. The project expects to be self-supporting from local community inputs and interest in the third year.

Sri Lanka: In June 1997 in partnership with INI Australia and with the assistance of an AusAID contribution of $A6750, IN Network Sri Lanka commenced a human resource development project for women in Sri Lanka through the establishment of a Training Program for primary school teachers. Its goal is to improve the educational opportunities for 2400 vulnerable mountain tea pluckers’ children annually, by training and equipping 100 rural women (and men) annually in primary school teaching. The project is expected to be self-supporting in the second year.

Bangladesh: In July 1997 in partnership with INI New Zealand and with the assistance of a VASS contribution of $NZ25, 553, IN Network (formerly International Needs, Inc.) Bangladesh commenced the Jessore Women's Vocational Training Project in western Bangladesh. This is the third such training centre established by IN Network (formerly International Needs, Inc.) Bangladesh with a contribution from VASS. Its Goal is to establish a vocational training centre where women will be trained and equipped in specific employable skills including literacy. Once trainees obtain employment, they will pay the project their tuition, which is expected to sustain the project long term.

Nepal: In July 1997 in partnership with IN New Zealand and with the assistance of a VASS contribution of $NZ55, 468, IN Nepal commenced the Barne Women's Water and sanitation Project in east Nepal. Its goal is to establish a water system for the Barne community that will reticulate a safe and adequate supply of water to the community, prevent water borne diseases, and relieve women of the task of carrying water long distances. This project will include a training program for women that teaches hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition. The training will also include AIDS, family planning, baby care, care for the environment, vegetable and fruit gardening, and nutrition. The project will affect the lives of over 2,400 villagers.

India: In July 1996 in partnership with IN Network (formerly International Needs, Inc.) Canada and with the assistance of a CIDA contribution over three years of $C72, 929, ACTS Ministries (INI India) commenced a Program for Environmental Awareness in Schools (PEAS). Its goal is to promote environmental awareness in school children - and thereby transform communities’ environmental awareness – nationally in India. Each year 15,000 school children will attend environmental seminars. Educators and environmentalists from 24 regions will meet. A “national happening” for children will be held annually. This project has the endorsement of the India government and will be self-supporting from within India in its fourth year.

In November 1997 in partnership with INI Canada and with the assistance of a CIDA contribution over two years of $C113, 550, ACTS Ministries commenced the Singasandra Health Project on the outskirts of Bangalore, South India. Its Goal is to improve the health and environmental awareness of 54 village communities in the Singasandra District through an action oriented health program. With an emphasis on preventative care, the Health center and mobile clinic will serve a population of 200,000, treat 200 persons a day, train 27 community health volunteers - annually, immunize 5,000 children, and teach 2,700 villagers at community health seminars. The project is expected to be self-supporting in its third year.

I.N. Network USA uses the following to express their faith:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His personal return to power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

I.N. Network USA (formerly International Needs, Inc.) was envisioned in 1974 by Ray Harrison, World Director of Youth for Christ International, while he attended the World Conference on Evangelism in Lausanne, Switzerland. He felt God directing him to a new and wider form of ministry.

Ray to established IN Network with the goal of helping Christians serve God in their own countries. A dedicated team joined him, working in partnership for the cause of Christ and the gospel worldwide. IN Network partnerships comprise two types - support and ministry.

The support countries are autonomous, each with its board of directors or trustees. These are Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United States of America. There are growing support centers in Austria, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia.

The ministry countries number almost 30 and serve through autonomous IN Network national boards of oversight or established local partners. They are Bangladesh, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Korea, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, North Africa, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Romania, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia.

Prayer Partners receive our regular newsletter so they can pray meaningfully for the ministry outreaches. Child Sponsors share in the life of needy children in Asia, Africa, Central America and Eastern Europe. Children in Eritrea, Philippines, India, Ghana and Bangladesh need sponsors immediately. IN Network child sponsors supply a monthly gift that provides a child with food, clothing, shelter, and Christ-centered education. Each sponsored child is given the opportunity to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

National Worker partners support evangelists, church planters, students in training and Bible teachers. Investment Donors share in the purchase of equipment and training materials for the development of national ministries. Partners in Leadership Training assist in training nationals and teaching-pastors and church leaders in the developing world.

Church Planting Partner churches in the developed world assist in the planting of new churches in the developing world.
