Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]
Program Accomplishments for Fiscal Year End: September 30, 2002
- Several MUP missionaries are actively teaching in Bible Schools and other Bible training centers. For example, MUP works in partnership with Ministry to Eastern Europe focused on training church leaders.
- In Cambodia, after many years of war and communism, the relative freedom of the past few years has resulted in significant church growth in this tiny country. MUP workers are strengthening national church workers for the spread of the Gospel.
- MUP workers are involved in medical health care in several locations. Specifically, in Nepal, MUP medical workers presently include a pharmacist and a nurse working with local hospitals and rural outreaches.
Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
Mission to Unreached Peoples' Statement of Faith is:
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative and infallible in the original writings.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life eternal.
We believe in the spiritual unity of the Church, which is the Body of Christ, composed of all who are regenerated through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mission to Unreached Peoples was started in 1981 to bridge the gap between traditional missions and Christian relief and development. Initial activities revolved around raising funds for small projects undertaken by national Christians in the developing countries of Asia. In 1983 we were joined by our first missionary family, who lived and worked with us in Seattle for several months developing training materials, while awaiting visas for their placement in Nepal in December of that year. The faith and determination of this couple, to stay with the call God had placed in their hearts to work in Nepal, a country closed to traditional missionaries, helped shape our determination as an organization to find creative strategies to enter "closed" countries, gaining access for the Good News of Jesus Christ to those peoples unreached by His Gospel.
In November, 1984, Danny Martin accepted a part time consulting job, developing an overseas placement program, which was transferred to this organization in Feb., 1986, and became the beginning of our continuing China program. With the placement in Aug., 1986 of a 14-member team in China, the total number of personnel in Asia had grown to 38, in addition to more than a dozen ministry projects run by Asian nationals in 11 countries. Since that time, we have sent hundreds of working witnesses for Jesus Christ to Asia and Eastern Europe, specializing in the mobilization of lay Christians to use their vocational skills in a variety of creative strategies to access closed, closing, or newly opened countries with the Gospel. Dr. Martin is recognized as a leader in the worldwide Tentmaking movement in conjunction with the World Evangelical Fellowship, the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, Tentmakers' International Exchange, and Intent.
The mission is a member of EFMA, AIMS, WEF, and ECFA. The mission is based in Seattle, the gateway to Asia, and presently serves over 75 tentmakers in 16 countries.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
