Purpose [ Back to top ]

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Guidelines exists to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel in such a manner that men and women come to faith in Jesus Christ and believers are discipled and strengthened.

HISTORY OF MINISTRY Guidelines was founded in 1963 by Harold and Darlene Sala. Beginning with a five minute commentary known as Guidelines (now the longest running five minute program in Christian radio), the ministry has grown with tentacles reaching into more than 100 countries of the world. Three major ministry divisions are described as reaching, teaching, and touching.

  • Reaching involves radio (The Guidelines commentary is now released on 960+ outlets in English, 200 in Spanish, and a variety of other languages, the printing and distribution of literature, the Internet, and evangelistic outreaches to the family.
  • Teaching is a ministry to pastor, family conferences, and guest lecturing in colleges and universities.
  • Touching focuses on humanitarian assistance and church planting in areas of the world usually neglected by traditional missions
PROJECTS Guidelines provides support for indigenous pastors, especially in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and the Philippines, linking a family or church in the U.S. with one in these countries, taking no service fees from the gift. In undeveloped countries, a family can live on $150-$200 per month. For information about this contact Guidelines or find information on the web site: www.guidelines.org

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
