Summary
Good News Productions International ("GNPI") strives to establish and maintain a ministry which shall promote the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the study of God's Word as written in the Bible through: (1) The production of the biblical based media specially designed for use in various cultures around the world; (2) Giving assistance in the use of visuals and equipment designed for home, village and mass teaching situations; and (3) Any other related Christian work. To fulfill these purposes, GNPI cooperates with Christian workers around the world and employs such staff and institutes such internship programs which are considered necessary to facilitate the gathering of information from various cultures needed for the production, and for dispersing the production throughout the world. GNPI is a dedicated arm of the church of Jesus Christ to fulfill His Great Commission. This is done by designing specific strategies for evangelism and leadership training efforts to fit each unique culture. Virtually all work is done in cooperation with missionaries and national Christians who understand the targeted people groups. This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. For further information about the ministry, you are encouraged to contact the ministry directly.

Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]
Nine regional centers have been established in different locations around the world with more than 80 staff members who work diligently in multiple languages with nationals and missionaries to design strategies for spreading the Gospel. Every year hundreds of productions and projects are completed in the regional centers that are distributed through individuals, satellite broadcasts, cable stations, internet, through schools, and other various means.
Six NOMaD teams have also been established and have started production. These small grassroots media production teams can operate quickly, work from almost anywhere, and function inexpensively and effectively in designing materials for evangelism.
Leadership training materials have been produced and used around the world to help strengthen and develop the church.
Full length movies have been produced and shown in movie theaters.
Music videos with popular artists have been used as testimonies in schools.
Internet sights have been developed for people to download materials that have been produced.
Global projects such as The Global Gospel have been developed as templates that can be easily adapted for any language.
Solar Kits have been designed to take the Gospel into remote areas.
Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
Good News Productions, International uses the following to express its values:
In order to guarantee the perpetuity of the ideas and principles of said Corporation, the qualifications of all members shall be as follows: Every member shall be a member of the church of Christ (Christian, non-denominational), and must believe without reservation in the full and final inspiration of the Bible so that it is to him the infallible Word of God, and therefore, the all-sufficient rule of faith and life; in the deity and supreme authority of Jesus Christ; in obedience to the Gospel; the divine origin and character of the church and the restoration of its unity on a New Testament basis.
In order to avoid any misunderstanding or equivocation on the matter of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Word, it is hereby required that all members shall affirm their unqualified acceptance of the Virgin birth of Christ, the life, death , burial and resurrection of Christ; the reality of final judgment; heaven and hell; all as taught in the Bible.
No sectarian test shall be used to determine the qualifications of any member; but, all shall reaffirm his allegiance yearly to the foregoing belief, or resign at once. Further, to perpetuate sound doctrine and non-sectarian teaching, the Bible shall be taught through all productions and media as the only foundation of belief; and, all things shall be conducted in harmony with the spirit and letter of the Word of God as revealed in the Bible.
GNPI grew out of the 14-year ministry of Ziden and Helen Nutt in Zimbabwe, Africa. While working in what was then known as Rhodesia, the Nutts soon discovered the value of visual teaching materials in drawing large crowds. Because available audiovisuals were usually produced in English for Western audiences, Ziden began producing culturally-accurate filmstrips using slides taken in the villages and putting the scriptures in the language of the people. As missionaries in other countries heard about the strategy being used in Zimbabwe, some asked Ziden to expand the work to include their countries as well. In 1975, the Nutt family moved to Joplin, Missouri and, with the partnership of many individuals and congregations, began the ministry of GNPI. The work is now reaching into more than 98 countries, with materials at various stages of production in over 100 languages.
The filmstrip aspect of the ministry grew tremendously from the beginning and missionaries still report a dramatic response to such a simple tool. In order to allow workers in remote regions to show the culturally-accurate filmstrips, a solar-powered audiovisual pack was designed. It is equipped with a 12-volt battery, projector, and audio-cassette tape player. Electricity is generated by a solar panel which will recharge the battery as the worker is traveling from village to village.
Production Center in the U.S.
Since 1979, the Research and Production Center in Joplin has been producing videos to aid in evangelism and leadership training. Topics include Bible studies and various practical subjects including, church growth, youth, missions, etc. The videos are being used by missionaries and nationals in 64 countries outside the United States and in all 50 states within the U.S. In early 1987, GNPI installed an up-link sarth station in Joplin. The Able Telecommunication Service was inaugurated in August of that year--offering the capability of delivering leadership training programs via satellite.
International Production Centers
In 1991, a media production facility was completed in Damoh, India in order to meet the needs and opportunities made possible through the exploding use of video in that country. At this GNPI Regional Center it is possible to produce culturally-accurate materials (using national teachers and actors) not only for India, but for surrounding countries as well. Productions are being distributed to hundreds of "house churches" and are being viewed by thousands. A drama about the birth of Christ and another portraying the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ have been aired on Indian national television--to an estimated total audience of 180 million people. It is likely that at least 95% of this audience is non-Christian.In late 1992, a GNPI Regional Center was opened in Singapore. From this key location, much work is being done to assist Christian leaders throughout Asia. A major project for the Philippines included the production of a weekly television program which is broadcast nationally. In July of 1994, a Regional Center was opened in Nairobi, Kenya. The 5,400 square-foot building, which houses the Center, was dedicated in September 1995. This Center assists workers from throughout Africa in production of culturally-accurate materials. Some of the videos produced there are being shown on national television. And in June of 1997, a Center for Hispanic Advancement was established in Eagle Pass, Texas. This Regional Center is producing dramas and teaching videos in Spanish and Portuguese. An additional Regional Center is being developed in Chiangmai, Thailand. And partnerships in world evangelism continue in Australia, Russia, South America, and the Caribbean.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
