Summary

A key facet of tearing down demonic strongholds is mobilizing the body of Christ to work together in unity. Almost two decades ago, God showed Cindy Jacobs that "In a time of war, it is the generals who make the battle plans. The Lord wanted us to meet together to hear His plan of strategy as He revealed it through...different ministries."

Generals of Intercession (GOI) was founded upon this initial assignment from the Lord, and a commitment to unity is still a primary focus of the ministry today. GOI believes strongly in the Biblical observation that a threefold cord is not quickly broken. The united, complementary ministry gifting of Cindy and Mike Jacobs has been graced by God to impact the body of Christ at large. GOI considers the third strand of this threefold cord to be their ministry partners, whose fervent intercession and financial commitments are vital to prepare the way for God's blessing to the nations.

History [ Back to top ]

Mike & Cindy Jacobs co-founded Generals of Intercession in 1985 with a mission of developing intercessory prayer strategies to unlock the harvest throughout the nations of the world. Their ministry calling has literally taken the Jacobs’ around the globe as they share God’s love and power. They will have visited twenty-two nations just in 2002 alone!

The Lord has graced Mike and Cindy with complimentary giftings to strengthen and impart vision to key leaders and to the corporate body of Christ. The call Cindy serves in the prophetic is geared toward bringing insight and spiritual breakthrough to individuals, churches, regions, and nations. Additionally, Cindy serves alongside Chuck Pierce as a United States Coordinator for the United States Strategic Prayer Network, which is headed globally by C. Peter Wagner.

Mike has the heart to see business and ministry leaders as well as to the church as a whole, receive the impartation of wisdom and strategy of the Holy Spirit. Following his calling, Mike helped to found the Nehemiah Partners, an international network of Christian business people now being mobilized to partner in the Great Commission.

Mike and Cindy are active members of Springs Harvest Fellowship and grateful to be pastored by Dutch Sheets. They are the parents of two grown children. Their son, Daniel is 21 years old and is currently attending the Call School in Pasadena, California. Both their daughter, Madison (24) and their son-in-love, Thomas Smith (23) are working for Generals of Intercession. Cindy and Mike welcomed their first grandchild, Malachi Jude Smith into the family on August 1, 2001. The family resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Join the Ranks!

Generals of Intercession is grateful for your consideration in partnering together with them to fulfill God's mandate for strategic, prophetic intercession throughout our nation and world!

Shunamite Covenant God beckoned us to establish the Shunamite Covenant Partnership based on an example of mutual blessing found in the friendship between the prophet Elisha and a Shunamite woman. Through her support in mundane, everyday needs, Elisha was empowered to fulfill the mandate God had put on his life. And in the process, God brought dramatic blessing to the Shunamite woman, her husband and family!

Our Shunamite Covenant Partners commit to a monthly financial donation of $20 or more through an automatic withdrawal on the 20th of each month (to make the withdraws, either a voided check or credit card number is needed). Additionally, we ask for a commitment to praying regularly for us and the staff at Generals of Intercession. It's so important to note that the Shunamite blessing flowed through a budding friendship that empowered all to fulfill their destinies in the Lord. Here at Generals, we want to extend our hearts to you. When you covenant with us as a Shunamite Partner, we will offer you: · A tape of the month for donors giving $50.00 or more per month · Special discounts on products and materials · Free attendance at complimentary Shunamite Partner lunches across the nations

Together for the harvest, Mike & Cindy Jacobs

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
