Family Life Broadcasting System (dba Family Life Radio and Family Life Communications) operates a network of non-commercial radio stations across a number of states (including Arizona, Michigan, New Mexico and Texas) for the purpose of ministering to others through Christ-centered communication. In addition to the radio stations, Family Life Broadcasting System also produces radio programming and content through Family Life Communications. The ministry's goal (to bring families and individuals to a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ) is to strengthen the Christian's daily walk with the Lord through the medium of radio and to answer hurting needs through direct contact with the ministry's staff and the printed page.
Family Life Radio's programming consists of teaching, music, marriage and parenting, and children's programs. In addition, stations serve their local communities by airing live remote broadcasts, news, public affairs programs and public service announcements as well as extensive involvement in community service work.
Family Life Communications, Inc. consists of Family Life Radio and a satellite music and program services department which produces several nationally-syndicated radio programs. Family Life Communications also provides counseling centers, conference and speaker outreaches, and supportive resources. Family Life Radio utilizes stations and satellite services to deliver Christ-centered Christian music with relevant, Bible-based programs such as Insight for Living, Focus on the Family, In Touch, specials and others - all focused on communicating Christ's love and hope. Family Life Communications also connects personally with its listeners through live broadcasts and community events, and works in partnership with area churches through special events and on-air features.
Family Life Communications also presents seminars for women, married couples and parents, and operates six counseling centers in existing station areas. Eventually, Family Life Communications hopes to establish counseling outreaches in all Family Life Radio listening areas. Finally, Family Life Communications produces a variety of nationally syndicated programming, such as the live call-in program Parent Talk (hosted by ministry president Randy Carlson with regular guest Dr. Kevin Leman) and other syndicated features like Call to Worship, Gospel Harmonies, Weekend Magazine and Women of Virtue. Family Life Communications also produces a variety of short features.
Family Life Broadcasting, Inc. (an Arizona nonprofit corporation formed in 1983) and Family Life Broadcasting System (a New Mexico nonprofit formed in 1981) are affiliates of Family Life Broadcasting System (a Michigan nonprofit formed in 1966). Family Life Communications, Inc., an Arizona nonprofit, was established in 1995 to support the interests and purposes of Family Life Broadcasting System and its affiliated group of nonprofit corporations and Parent Talk, Inc. (formerly Today's Family Life, Inc.) and its affiliated group of nonprofit corporations. Family Life Communications, Inc. is a sole member of Family Life Broadcasting System and its affiliated corporations and of Parent Talk, Inc. The Family Life Broadcasting System corporations are financially interrelated and are under common control and management, with financial statements presented on a combined basis. Family Life Communications, Inc., is the parent holding company and the sole member of Parent Talk, Inc.'s corporations and its affiliates. In February 1998, Today's Family Life, Inc. changed its name to Parent Talk, Inc. The ministry was founded by Warren Bolthouse in 1966.
This organization is a nonprofit, contributions to it fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
Family Life Communications subscribes to the following statement of faith:
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt.28:19; II Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that the Bible in its' entirety (composed of sixty-six books) is the Holy, infallible Word of God; that it is and ever shall be the complete and final revelation of the will of God to man, and the final authority in all spiritual matters.(II Tim.3:16)
We believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Son. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and by His voluntary sacrificial death on Calvary and by His bodily and visible resurrection from the dead, paid the penalty of sin and purchased eternal life for all. (Micah 5:2; Matt.1:20,21,25; John 19:17-19; 20:16,17)
We believe that God created the universe and that it was perfect; that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin; that all men are sinners by nature and under God's condemnation. (Gen.1:1,2,27; Romans 5:18a)
We believe that salvation is the gift of God, by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins; that this salvation is the possession of those who by faith accept Christ as their personal Savior. We believe that there is no other way of salvation. (John 3:16; 16:7-11; Rom.10:13; Eph.2:5,8)
We believe that the Holy Spirit, who is a Person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and that it is by His power that the born-again Christian is enabled to live the Christian life. (Matthew 28:18,19; Romans 8:1,14)
We believe that the Bible teaches that each believer can and is commanded to live in separation from all worldly and sinful practices. (II Corinthians 6:14,17)
We believe that the Scriptural local church is made up of born- again believers, joined together for the purpose of spiritual fellowship, Christian growth, and the propagation of the Gospel.
We believe that every born-again Christian should be an active member of such a church, that the local church is God's prime instrument of testimony in this age; that the work of Christian teaching and of worldwide evangelism is entrusted first to such churches; and that no organization or fellowship should have priority over such a church. (Romans 12:5; ICor.11:27,28; Heb.10:25)
We believe that Jesus Christ ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He is interceding for each believer; that He will bodily and visibly return again.
We believe that God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by Jesus; that those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ shall dwell eternally with Him, and that those who refuse His offer of salvation shall eternally be cast into the Lake of Fire. (John 14:1-3; Romans 6:23; Revelations 21:8)"
Family Life Radio is the product of the desire and vision God gave to Warren Bolthouse. It's no surprise that Warren is the son of a builder, because for 30 years he has been dedicated to building the ministry of Family Life Radio. He and his wife, Char, met in their teenage years while singing and traveling with the "Children's Bible Hour." They were married in 1947.
From there, Warren and Char were called to be involved as music ministers, assistant pastors or youth directors for church ministries in Michigan and New York. Even in the midst of this pastoral work, the couple had a dream of seeing non-commercial Christian radio in every home. Following their ministry in New York, Warren and Char and their five children moved back to Michigan and settled in the Jackson area. It was there, in a clapboard house on Jericho Road, that the dream of Christian radio started to come alive. Family Life Radio was born in the basement studio of Warren and Char's home, with a 30-minute radio program for teenagers.
The history of Family Life Radio is captured in the book "On The Jericho Road: The Family Life Radio Story."
Support for the work of Family Life Broadcasting System comes primarily form the financial gifts of its listeners.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
