Summary

Entrust, formerly BEE International (aka Biblical Education by Extension International or BEE) was formed as an overseas Christian support organization to develop, publish, and teach seminary-level curriculum in Eastern Europe and former Soviet territories with the goal of training leadership for the local churches in those countries. The objective of the ministry is to multiply, as rapidly and systematically as possible, the growth of New Testament church leadership in the formerly closed countries of Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union. The purpose of the organization is to assist these Christians in their attempts to promote the growth and establishment of their churches by the training and equipping of their pastors for the purpose of evangelizing and discipling their countrymen. Entrust provides comprehensive life-related, ministry-based leadership training where practical ministry assignments are required and monitored by qualified teachers. The seminar sessions provide significant opportunity for peer discipleship in a small group as students’ world views are challenged to conform to Scripture. This organization is a nonprofit, contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Purpose [ Back to top ]

The Entrust curriculum addresses three related areas of development (Bible knowledge, ministry skills and character) with a curriculum field tested and adapted to each country. Publishing the Entrust curriculum involves translating six million words per language and printing over 65 textbooks in six different languages. These 65 textbooks are printed in quantities ranging from 500 to 5,000 and provide an essential study library for future use and reference. Entrust provides comprehensive life-related, ministry-based leadership training where practical ministry assignments are required and monitored by qualified teachers. The seminar sessions provide significant opportunity for peer discipleship in a small group as students’ world views are challenged to conform to Scripture. Entrust operates in the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and the Ukraine.

Entrust was formed in 1979 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in the State of Texas in 1985. This organization is a nonprofit, contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

Entrust communicates its statement of faith as the following:

  • We believe the Bible to be the fully inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Tim.3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21).
  • We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; Eph. 4:4-6).
  • We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal second coming in power and glory (John 1:1,14; Luke 1:26-35; 2 Cor. 5:21; John 14:10-11; Rom. 3:23-26; Luke 24-6-7; Eph. 1:20-21; Acts 1:10-11; Matt. 24:30).
  • We believe that all are sinful and lost. The consequence of this condition is eternal judgment (John 3:18, 36; Rom. 3:10-23; 6:23; Heb. 9:27).
  • We believe that all can be saved from this eternal judgment only by grace through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, apart from works (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Eph. 2:8-9; Heb. 9:28).
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who regenerates, indwells, and enables the Christian to live a godly life (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 6:19; Gal. 5:16).
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection and judgment of all people. Believers are resurrected to enjoy eternal life with God, and unbelievers are resurrected to experience eternal punishment away from the presence of the Lord (John 11:25-26; 1 John 5:11-12; Rev. 20:4-15).
  • We believe all who are united to the risen and ascended Son of God are members of Christ’s universal church. We also believe that the local expressions of the universal body of Christ are essential in the plan and purpose of God (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 4:1-13).
  • We believe it is the responsibility of all who are saved to work toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8)

History [ Back to top ]

Entrust describes its history in the following way:

In 1979 a historic meeting was held in Vienna, Austria, to discuss the opportunities for training the next generation of Christian leaders in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.

Key leaders from twenty different missions and several nationals from Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania and Russia attended. After three days of discussion and prayer, an inter-mission effort was launched. BEE International (Biblical Education by Extension) was formed to develop a comprehensive training program to help equip church leaders.

Twenty-five years of ministry have uniquely equipped BEE International to respond to the historic opportunities throughout the world today.

Studies indicate that over 90% of the world's theologically trained church leaders live in North America and Western Europe. Statistics suggest that 2 million pastors outside this area have not had any Bible training at all.

BEE International began in the countries of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. We continue to work in these countries with Eastern Europeans and Russians owning more of the ministry, and even planning leadership training in other countries.

As we watched the growing needs for training in other parts of the world, we felt it was time to change our name, to change our brand, to reflect our expanding worldwide commitment to the next generation of church leaders.

And so BEE International became Entrust

"Entrust" means to pass on something of great value with total faith in the recipient's care and commitment. It is a word filled with energy, action and emotion. Entrusting local leaders with the gospel message and the tools to spread that message is at the core of our ministry. Success will be the replication of at least four generations of teachers and trainers, as seen in 2 Timothy 2:2.

The need for trained leaders is paramount as we move into an era of unprecedented growth of Christian believers. Now is the time to take seriously the need to exponentially expand servant leader training for the church.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
