Purpose [ Back to top ]

    DiscipleMakers is:

  • A Christian Mission DiscipleMakers staff and students co-labor in ministry with area churches to disciple men and women towards fulness of Christian maturity in their personal walk with the Lord and in their response to Christ and the Great Commission. Drawing on the strengths of scripture, the work of the Holy Spirit, and our heritage of faith, we seek to train and equip the next generation of Christian leaders for effective service.

  • A Campus Outreach Colleges and Universities are strategic places to recruit and train laborers for Christ. College students are at a critical time in their life journey as they make major life choices. DiscipleMakers seeks to take advantage of this unique opportunity to provide both the vision and the training for a life of productive Christian ministry. Weekly large group meetings enable students to enjoy fellowship and solid Bible teaching.

  • A Mentoring Program DiscipleMakers is a relational ministry. Leaders seek to build stable, long term friendships with a relatively small number of men and women. These one-to-one relationships provide chances for the modeling of Christlike character, the development of a value system that places God's kingdom first in every area, and the demonstration of a lifesytle of discipleship.

  • A Small-Group Support System Jesus devoted a significant portion of His ministry to "the twelve", His small group of Disciples. In the same way, DiscipleMakers uses small-group Bible studies and informal meetings to build trust, accountability and a deeper understanding of Biblical truths.

  • A Training Ground for International Evangelism Jesus told his followers to take the gospel to all nations. That commission is acted out each day in the lives of DiscipleMakers past and present. DiscipleMakers alumni are ministering around the world, as well as in churches and ministries in this country. Colleges and universities bring together students and faculty from around the world. In this multicultural environment, a visible and personal witness for Jesus Christ can touch lives all over the globe! Weekend conferences and week long camps provide students with intensive training in how to live for the Lord and effectively share their faith.

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

DiscipleMakers uses the follow to express its Statement of Faith:

In one true God, existing eternally as one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

That the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the unique, inerrant, inspired Word of God, and is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

In the sovereignty and active rule of God in creation, history, revelation, redemption, and final judgment.

That man was created by God in His image, but that since Adam's sin, all men are sinful and subject to God's wrath and condemnation.

That Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, fully human and fully divine, eternally existing as God, yet born in time of a virgin, and that He lived a sinless and perfect life.

In the historic death of Jesus as the full and only atonement for our sins, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

That men are justified only by the grace of God through faith alone, only on the basis of the death of Christ.

That those justified are also sanctified, only by the grace of God, through faith alone.

That the Holy Spirit is present and effective in applying the work of Christ to believers in regenerating and sanctifying them.

In one invisible, universal church, the Body of Christ, to which all true believers belong, and in particular Churches governed by officers with the authority to rule in matters of belief and discipline.

In the visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory.

In the resurrection of the redeemed to the enjoyment of God forever in His presence, and the resurrection of the unredeemed to judgment and everlasting punishment in hell.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
