Mission Statement [ Back to top ]

CinA uses the following to communicate its mission statement:

It is our mission to make disciples of all nations. We are committed to fulfilling this purpose through personal evangelism and the planting of national churches. Specific methods to accomplish this task include:
- Equipping and sending missionaries
- Training and mobilizing national leaders
- Supporting the needs and visions of the mission fields with personnel of administrative, financial, and professional abilities.

Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]

CinA's ministries are centered on evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, but include Bible schools, pre-schools, day-care, disaster relief, self-help projects. From North America there are annual events that help create mission awareness as well as encourage Christians to serve in needy areas of the world. More recently this has meant an annual short-term emphasis to Ghana, Columbia, Brazil and the Philippines using pastors conferences, evangelistic crusades, and small and large-scale medical missions/evangelism outreaches.

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

CinA uses the following to communicate its statement of faith:

The Bible to be the only, inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atonement, resurrection and second coming.
That sinful man must be transformed by the Holy Spirit.
In the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who empowers the Christian to live a godly life and witness to others.
In the resurrection of Christians to eternal life and of the lost to perdition.
In the spiritual unity of all believers in Jesus Christ.

History [ Back to top ]

Christians In Action originated with Rev. Lee Shelley as the first president in 1957, "WINNING THE LOST ACROSS THE STREET AND AROUND THE WORLD". Elgin Taylor was one of the organization's first appointed missionaries. He and his wife, Dorothy served as missionaries in Japan, Africa and Great Britain. Today Rev. Taylor serves as president and is the international director of CinA. Incorporated as Missionary and Soul Winning Fellowship in 1958 (the name was changed to Christians In Action in 1974).

Ministry Needs [ Back to top ]

For churches and individuals to develop a prayer focus for CinA's international ministries.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
