Over the years, Christian Aid has provided more than $100 million in assistance to more than 800 evangelistic ministries based in 122 "mission field" countries overseas. These boards deploy a combined total of 100,000 missionaries serving in the most unevangelized nations of the world.

This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Purpose [ Back to top ]

Christian Aid Mission ("CAM") is a foreign mission board dedicated to the furtherance of New Testament type Christianity in every nation, especially in those areas where Christians are fewest in number, and where they suffer because of poverty and persecution. It is also to establish a witness for our Lord in every nation where He has no people for His name. CAM has carefully researched and interviewed the leaders of the mission boards we assist. These missions must maintain full accountability for their missionaries, both financially and spiritually. CAM has information on about 6000 different ministries, of which more than 500 have been fully evaluated and approved for support. These groups have a combined total of more than 30,000 missionaries on the field. They operate over 200 Bible institutes and missionary training centers. None are branches of foreign denominations or organizations. All are fully indigenous within the area where their work is located. Missionary minded churches in America are encouraged to "adopt a mission board" by choosing a specific indigenous mission and sending support for it through CAM. All who do so receive information about the ministries they support, including photographs of individual missionaries and reports about the work they are doing. CAM was founded by Bob Finley.

This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Mission Statement [ Back to top ]

Christian Aid Mission's Mission Statement is

to be used of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the prophecy of Matt 24:14 ("What shall be the sign of Thy coming and of the end of the age?" Our Lord gave only one sign. He said the gospel would be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come). As the servant of Abraham went to get a bride for Isaac, we seek to complete the church - some from every people and kindred and tongue and tribe and nation - to be the body, the bride of our Lord when He comes again.

Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]

Christian Aid Mission communicates the following accomplishments:

Since 1953 CAM has served as a communications link between U.S. churches and native missionary ministries based in poorer countries overseas, especially those that are closed to missionaries from America. CAM has traveled millions of miles to visit and evaluate indigenous missions in the most remote places on earth.

In 2003, CAM celebrated their 50 year anniversary.

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

Christian Aid Mission's Statement of Faith is:

1 We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. By this is meant a miraculous guidance of the Holy Spirit in their original writing (II Pet. 1:21), extending to all parts of the Old and New Testaments, applying even to the choice of words, so that the result is the very Word of God; the only infallible rule of faith and practice (II Tim. 3:16).

2 We believe in one Lord God Almighty, who has revealed Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

3 We believe that as through one man sin entered the world and death through sin, so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned, and the wages of sin is death (Rom. 5:12, 6:23).

4 We believe in the virgin birth and true deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His death as the only true substitute for sin, and that His shed blood was and is a sufficient expiation for the sins of all men. We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension, and exaltation above all heavens (Eph. 4:10).

5 We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that all who are so justified are born anew and receive eternal life which is Christ in us the hope of glory (Col. 1:27), but that those who have not been born again shall not see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3).

6 We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the saved who are in Christ, and that God Himself will judge the lost who are outside of Christ with eternal punishment.

7 We believe that a local church is the body of Christ in that locality (I Cor. 12:27), but that all regenerated believers are also one body in Christ (Eph. 2:16) and constitute the true church (Col. 1:24).

8 We believe in the pre-millenial second coming to earth of our Lord Jesus Christ in power and great glory, that He will change our vile bodies and fashion them like unto His glorious body (Phil. 3:21). We believe that He shall reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords upon this earth for a thousand years (Rev. 20:5), and in Heaven forever.

9 We believe it to be the supreme responsibility of the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ to plant His church among all nations (Rom. 1:5, Rev. 5:9).

History [ Back to top ]

CAM began in Washington, DC over 40 years ago, by Bob Finley as a pioneer missionary outreach among overseas students and other visitors from unevangelized "mission field" countries. Millions of foreign nationals come to the U.S. and Canada every year. CAM's goal has been to reach these visitors while they are away from home and lead them to spiritual maturity in Christ.

Over the years, hundreds of highly educated men and women have gone back to provide leadership for indigenous missionary ministries among their own people on every continent.

When they return home to head up the work in their countries, CAM serves as their supply line. CAM maintain the address list of their personal prayer partners and supporters, print and mail out their newsletters, and issue receipts for contributions sent in for their work. Then CAM sends on to them 100% of all gifts we receive for them from their personal supporters.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
