China Ministries International, Inc. ("CMI") is dedicated to the evangelization of the Chinese people, particularly those living in Mainland China, and to the building up of the Chinese Church. CMI's long term goal is to overcome denominationalism and self-centered-ness by promoting church renewal and enabling churches worldwide to engage in a cooperative effort for the evangelization of China. The Christianity and China Research Center (CCRC) conducts ongoing research on the history of missions in China, China's religious policy, church development in China, Christianity and Chinese culture and China mission strategies. CMI produce a number of publications aimed at informing believers worldwide about the situation of the Church in China and to stimulate prayer. CMI recruits Chinese pastors, elders and deacons from overseas who can go to China to give 2 to 3 weeks of Biblical teaching. A CMI co-worker serves to coordinate the program and host the team. In addition, CMI sends missionaries and training teams to China, to offer 3 weeks to 3 months of intensive training courses on Bible and ministry. CMI began its ethnic ministry in China in 1991 (the program is called Multi-Adoption Partnership) in conjunction with other churches and mission agencies, where its role is to integrate missions with research and training so that sufficient information on a group may be gathered and training materials can be developed to train mission teams. CMI began delivery of the Twin Companions for China's evangelists (a copy of the Fish Bible and the Training Manual for Church Workers) at 10,000 sets per year in 1996. The most recent program is an outreach to mainland Chinese who are living in North America, which began in 1996. CMI recruits and trains mainland Chinese students to become mssionaries among the mainland Chinese student population.
CMI was founded in 1987 by Dr. Jonathon Chao for the purpose of training and sending missionaries to spread the Gospel to Chinese people in mainland China. CMI equips Chinese evangelists and pastors through radio broadcasts, literature, and training programs. Seminaries in Hong Kong and Taiwan train Chinese believers for effective service among their own people. CMI has offices in Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Philippines and the United Kingdom.

China Ministries International began in Hong Kong in 1978, when it was founded as the Chinese Church Research Center under Rev. Jonathan Chao. CMI was founded in the US in 1987 by Rev. Chao for the purpose of training and sending missionaries to spread the Gospel to Chinese people in mainland China. CMI has offices in Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Philippines and the United Kingdom. CMI began to contact minority groups in 1991, and then cooperated with churches and mission agencies to adopt a group for mission work. In this process, a new strategy called "Multi-Adoption Partnership" (MAP) was developed. whereby partnering groups play different roles according to their gifts and talents, until a native church is planted in an adopted group. CMI's role is to integrate missions with research and training so that sufficient information on a group may be gathered and training materials can be developed to train mission teams. CMI began the delivery of the Twin Companions (a copy of the Fish Bible and the Training Manual for Church Workers) 10,000 sets per year in 1996.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
