Summary
Advancing Native Missions (ANM) exists for one purpose: to help take the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world's remaining unreached peoples. ANM does
this by standing behind 3,500+ indigenous or native missionaries who are
reaching their own people in more than 80 countries of the world.
Today, more than 80% of world evangelization is being carried out by native
missionaries, who have free access to all regions of the world-including
those closed to foreign missionaries. Headquartered in Charlottesville,
Virginia, ANM is an inter-denominational, evangelical, non-profit missions
organization that serves as a bridge between native missionaries and the
body of Christ in North America.
ANM seeks out, evaluates, and sends support to native mission groups who are
evangelical in faith, transparent in their finances, and focused on reaching
unreached people groups. ANM also shares information about native missions
with churches and individuals in North America, so they can partner with
these missionaries for the rapid advancement of God's kingdom.
This organization is a nonprofit. Contributions to it are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

Advancing Native Missions's Mission Statement is:
Advancing Native Missions has been called to seek out, evaluate, and support native missions groups who have a clear and defined evangelical statement of faith, who are open and transparent in their finances, and who are working among unreached people groups. We share information about these native missions with evangelical churches and individuals in North America who are willing to pray and give for the advancement of God's Kingdom through these ministries. Visiting native mission leaders work with ANM to declare God's Word to the churches of North America and inspire them to be actively involved in missions at home and abroad. Through the coordination of Vision Trips, ANM puts individuals in a unique position to get a first-hand view of the life and spirit of native missions throughout the world. We purpose to be open and transparent before both God and man in the stewardship of the gifts the Lord's people entrust to ANM.
Program Accomplishments [ Back to top ]
In the year 2003 ANM is especially thank for this year. Despite a sagging economy and a nationwide decline in charitable giving, gift to overseas ministries through ANM has been at a record high!
They attribute this to two reasons:1) God's overwhelming grace and 2) the generosity of donors. Some of the accomplishments because of these donations are as follows:
They have sent 2.1 million dollars in monthly support for thousands of national pastors and other workers who are serving selflessly for the betterment of their own peoples in the Third World.
There has been 1.3 million dollars worth of medical supplies, clothing computers, and other goods to needy ministries in Jordan, Honduras, Philippines, and Peru
$100,000 for building projects-- medical facilities, training centers, schools and orphanages-- throughout the Third World.
There has been $30,000 sent to purchase bicycles, motorbikes, and vehicles for national workers to serve their own communities better.
There was $10,000 to purchase Bibles fro spiritually-starved masses in the Third World.
These are just a few of the many accomplishments that ANM has shared. For more information please go to their website.
ANM assists more than 2,500 native missionaries and 150 indigenous missions in 49 countries working with numerous unreached people groups around the world.
Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]
Advancing Native Missions, Inc. uses the following to express its Statement of Faith:
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired word of God, inerrant in the original documents and of final authority in all matters of faith and practice;
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
We believe in the full deity and perfect humanity of our Lord, His representative and substitutionary sacrifice, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father's right hand, His present high priestly ministry, and His personal return in power and glory;
We believe in the regeneration by the Holy Spirit, which is absolutely necessary for the salvation of fallen, sinful, and lost mankind and which is a free gift of God's grace received by personal faith through Christ Jesus;
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life;
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust: those who are saved to everlasting blessedness, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation;
and that the universal church is composed of all true believers in Christ Jesus who are united in Him and to one another by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The chief functions of the church are to worship God and witness for the Lord Jesus Christ until He returns. The local church is composed of a group of believers in a specific locality who gather in Christ's name for the breaking of bread, prayers, fellowship and teaching.
ANM was founded in 1992 by Carl Gordon of USA, Rev. Benjamin Barredo of the Philippines, and Re. C.V. John of India. These three men partnered together to begin a new organization that would assist Third World national leaders and their people in the most effective and efficient manner, to respond to the large spiritual, financial and developmental challenges facing the Third World.
Since that time, God has brought many dedicated and talented men and women form around the U.S. and even around the world to join the ANM team, because they all shared in this same vision. Presently ANM has approximately 25 staff based in our U.S. headquarters, 3 staff based in India, and 1 in Indonesia.
ANM expresses its needs as follows:
1. Pray fervently for native missions.
2. Adopt an individual native missionary.
3. Adopt a native missions group.
4. Sponsor a child.
5. Participate in Operation Barnabas.
6. Provide funds for needed equipment.
By contributing to ANM's Missionary Equipment Fund, you can facilitate the purchase of Bibles & tracts, horses, bicycles, lamps, shoes, and other vital equipment provided to native missionaries where needed.
ANM always has major needs, because they continually receive a steady stream of urgent appeals form their overseas ministry partners. Many of these needs can be found on their website.

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
