Purpose [ Back to top ]

Founded in 1993 by Jonathan Bernis, Jewish Voice Ministries International ("JVMI") is seizing the opportunity of openness in Russia and Eastern Europe to present the Gospel to the Jewish people there. Their primary activities are street evangelism and Messianic Outreach Festivals, where the love of God is demonstrated creatively. JVMI follows up these activities by planting congregations to nurture and disciple new believers. JVMI established a Messianic Bible School in St. Petersburg to develop Russian leadership. They also have a TV program that focuses on the roots of the New Testament Faith, Biblical Prophecy, and Israel. They also give medical aid to Jewish communities in Ethiopia and India.

Statement of Faith [ Back to top ]

BIBLE

We believe that the Bible, composed of both the Tenach (Jewish Scriptures) and the Apostolic Writings of the New Covenant (Brith Chadasha), is the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:15-17; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Hebrews 4:2; Ephesians 6:17

GOD IS ECHAD

We believe that God is Echad, as declared in the Shema, "a united one" or "compound unity" eternally existent in three persons.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:16-17; 1 John 5:7-13

DEITY

We believe in the Deity of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus, the Messiah) and that He is the "Seed of the woman" as God promised and that His virgin birth was to be a sign to Israel of His messiahship.
Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 1:22-23

MESSIAH YESHUA’S LIFE

We believe in Messiah Yeshua’s life, His miracles yesterday and today. His vicarious and sacrificial death as our atonement, His bodily resurrection, His personal future return for His followers, both living and dead, and His future establishment of His kingdom on Earth.

Isaiah 53:8-11; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Isaiah 9:6-7; 1 Corinthians 11:26; Zechariah 12:6-10; Zechariah 14:16-21

CLEANSED BY GRACE

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is by grace, through faith in the shed sacrificial blood of Yeshua HaMashiach and that regeneration by the Spirit of God is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

Leviticus 17:11; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 1:17; Habakkuk 2:4; John 3:3; Hebrews 11:6; Genesis 15:6

HARUACH HAKODESH

We believe in the present ministry of HaRuach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a godly life.
Jeremiah 31:31-34; John 14:15-17; Galatians 5:13-25

SONS & DAUGHTERS OF ISRAEL

We believe that the Jews according to the flesh (descendants of Abraham through Isaac, whether through the blood line of the mother or the father) who place their faith in Israel’s Messiah Yeshua have not disowned or separated themselves from their race and Judaic heritage, but remain sons and daughters of Israel. Gentiles who place their faith in Israel’s Messiah Yeshua are also, spiritually, sons and daughters of Israel.
Galatians 3:28-29; Romans 2:28-29; Genesis 15:6

RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of both saved and lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to eternal separation from God, the latter being consigned to a state of everlasting punishment.
Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:46; Psalm 69:28; Revelation 20:12-15

MIDDLE WALL OF PARTITION

We believe that the middle wall of partition which in times past separated Jews and Gentiles has been broken down, the enmity between them eradicated by the Messiah Yeshua.
Ephesians 2:12-24; Acts 10:34

NEW COVENANT BODY

We believe that the New Covenant body of the Lord is composed of both Jews and Gentiles who have accepted Yeshua HaMashiach as the promised Redeemer and that now they are to worship TOGETHER in the House of God.
1 Corinthians 12:13; Hebrews 10:25; Ephesians 3:6,10-12

JEWISH FOLLOWERS OF YESHUA

We believe that as Jewish followers of Yeshua, we are called to maintain our Jewish biblical heritage and remain part of our people, and the universal body of believers. This is part of our identity and a witness to the faithfulness of God.
Romans 3:1-4; 1 Corinthians 7:17-20; Acts 21:20-24

History [ Back to top ]

In 1967, Israel reclaimed the city of Jerusalem during the Six Day War. In January of that year, the first daily 15-minute radio program by Jewish Voice Broadcasts, Inc. with Founder, Evangelist Louis Kaplan began to air on a Christian radio station in Phoenix, Arizona. By 1968, the Jewish Voice Broadcast was being aired on some twenty-two radio stations across the country. In 1971, it became international with a broadcast from the Island of Cyprus into Israel. And in 1975, the international radio ministry expanded to Argentina, Uruguay and France. The domestic release of the daily Jewish Voice Broadcast had grown to over fifty stations from Arizona to Washington, D.C.

Jewish Voice Prophetic Magazine, the forerunner of the Jewish Voice Today Magazine, was first published in 1971. It was a monthly black and white publication, which after a few months had readers all over the world. The Jewish Voice Today Magazine is now a full color bi-monthly periodical and has a readership of over 25,000.

Eleven years after beginning the daily radio ministry in 1978, Jewish Voice embarked upon a television ministry. Jewish Voice Broadcasts began a weekly program on The Christian Broadcasting Television Network and The Praise the Lord Television Network. This half-hour program featured the testimonies of Jewish People who had accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah. In 1981 the program name was changed to L’Chayim.

In 1998, Evangelist Louis Kaplan passed away and International Evangelist, Jonathan Bernis was asked by the Jewish Voice Board of Directors to assume leadership of the ministry. A strategic partnership was affected, merging Hear O' Israel Festival Outreach Ministry with Jewish Voice Broadcasts, creating Jewish Voice Ministries International, headed by Jonathan Bernis.

In 1993 the International Festival of Jewish Music & Dance presented their first festival in St. Petersburg, Russia. Since then, more than twenty-five festivals have been held in Russia, Eastern Europe, India, Ethiopia, Brazil and Argentina. Over 500,000 people have attended these large scale event outreaches and millions more have seen them on television in their respective nations. Over 250,000 people have responded to invitations to receive Yeshua and over half of them have been Jewish People.

Jewish Voice Ministries International is now a multimedia ministry that features the weekly Jewish Voice Today television program, seen internationally as well as domestically on The Inspiration Satellite Network, World Harvest Satellite Network, The Church Channel, the Sky Angel Satellite Network and selected television stations, from Seattle to Miami. We publish the bi-monthly Jewish Voice Today Magazine, as well as a website that features a webstore for all of the many Messianic Jewish ministry materials, news features about the ministry and streaming video of our weekly Jewish Voice Today television program. Jewish Voice is also involved in ministry to Israel and the Jewish People with our Aliyah program. Thousands of people have been touched and ministered to through our humanitarian medical clinics and food programs.

Ministry Statement or Response [ Back to top ]

This organization has not offered MinistryWatch.com with an official statement or response for their profile. This area is meant as a mechanism for the profiled ministry to communicate anything they may choose. It is open ended as to the topic, issues, facts or news to address. It is not negative if there is no official statement as many don’t have anything to add than what is already on the profile. This section is not tied to transparency or to communication in general. Many very open and talkative ministries with us choose not to post an official statement. This section is just an open ended offering to the profiled ministry for anything extra to say as they may choose.
