Does MinistryWatch have a Privacy Statement?
Yes, and you can click here to read it. We value your online experience and your privacy concerns are very important to us. We promise to strictly follow our privacy policy.

What kinds of ministries are covered in the database?
Ministries are chosen based on their size (amount of revenues), organizational structure, geographic scope, and breadth of fundraising activities. The database contains primarily parachurch ministries (i.e. those required to file the IRS form 990) such as Focus on the Family, and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, but it also contains churches, religious orders, and overseas missions organizations (which are not required to file the IRS form 990) such as Jews for Jesus, Gospel Missionary Union, and the Pocket Testament League.

How many ministries are covered in the database?
The database contains profiles on more than 400 of the largest church and parachurch organizations in the United States. Collectively these organizations hold assets of more than $8 billion, and total revenues of over greater than $7 billion.

How do I use the MinistryFinder Seach Engine?
Put the name of a specific ministry in the name search box and press GO! The search results will tell you whether we have a ministry by that name or one similar to it in the database. By using the advanced features in the MinistryFinder you can search along other criteria and find qualifying ministries without having a particular name to search for. Also, to make things easier we have included the search engine at the top of each page so that you can search for ministry profiles no matter where you are in the site.

Are more ministries going to be added to the database?
Absolutely. We are moving as quickly as we can to collect and collate information in the database.

How do I manage the MyMinistries portfolio feature?
To keep up with your MyMinistries portfolio you have to make sure that you've registered to become a member and that you're signed in. Once that's done the rest is a breeze! Simply click the "Add a Ministry" button at the bottom of the MyMinistries screen and use the MinistryFinder to search for an organization you would like to add. If you've already found the profile of a ministry you'd like to track, simply click on the "Add to Portfolio" button at the top of the profile page and it will automatically add it for you. To remove a ministry, just click the X by the name of the ministry in your MyMinistries portfolio.

How can I print the information from the ministry profile section?
If you've found a profile that you'd like to have a hard copy of, printing is a simple process. Click the word "Print" at the top of the page and select either the Summary or Full profile. Once you've done that simply click on the words "Click Here to Print" in the top right corner to complete the process.
If you're having trouble doing so and would like to print the graph from the Ministry Profile section using a Windows Explorer browser, select the "Tools" heading from the task bar, then "Internet Options". Select the "Advanced" tab and scroll to "Printing" and check the "Print Background Colors and Images" box.

Do I have to register to "Become a Member" to particpate on a Discussion Board?
Yes, it is necessary. There are many benefits to signing up for a free membership at MinistryWatch. In addition to being able to create a portfolio of ministries to track, you can also meet other responsible stewards and use the discussion boards to talk about topics relating to specific ministries, nonprofit accountability, and responsible giving. Registering allows you to become a member of a community, and using the boards is simple and fun! You can search by topic, follow a board's entire thread of discussion, and when you're ready you can chime in with your own thoughts and opinions.
