Dear MinistryWatch:
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! How would we find out this information without a watch dog organization as yourselves? God Bless you all and your hard work at uncovering the financial truth and stewardship of so many Christian organizations. I thank God for your tenacity, wisdom, hard work and communicating the truth you find/uncover with love and clear language that most of us can understand.
I will include your organization in my prayers. God Bless each and every one of you at MinistryWatch.
Sincerely,
Mrs. P.

I want to say it is nice to see that their are people out there who is not afraid to expose frauds for who they are. I am a Christian and I know that these people who use God and peoples love of him to rip them off and better their own lives. Thank you for using your own time and money to expose these frauds.
God bless,

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for confirming all along what I've long
thought about tv ministries! I have had so many friends that are being
robbed by these charletans and wolves! I've sent out all your information
on these wicked groups, especially Word of Faith (Word of Robbery is more
like it). Thank you for providing a valuable service to the non-profit
community!
Laura
Thank you so much for providing this service which enables people to make
better informed decisions about the ministries with whom they partner.
Bless you.

Thank God for your work! I love it! Keep on top these so called "christians".

Dear Mr. Pitzer,
Thank you for looking into this. I do not actively seek out ministries in
question but this one came to my attention due to an article in the local
newspaper. I truly hate to see ministers and their ministries abuse their
non profit status and obtain luxury items through those organizations. It
casts a dark shadow on Christianity.

Many thanks Rod.

Please continue your exposure of these ministries that are unscrupulous and
are a Big Business. People worldwide need to know that these ministries
are using the church to collect wealth for themselves and their families.
Excellent T.V. segment.

I greatly applaud you! For years I have wondered
why some of these ministries are allowed to continue ripping people off
the way they do. It's obvious some of them are only in it for the money
and are the exact opposite of all that Christ represented. Let's face it:
Mother Theresa they're not. I think it's commendable you've chosen to
dedicate your life to researching the various ministries who are raking in
MILLIONS annually with very little to show for their money besides
tremendous wealth for themselves, profiteering on Jesus. Keep up the good
work you're doing! God will provide all the resources you need to keep
going.
R.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
For years I have been told by pastors (not my current
church) that your 10% should be given and never questioned. While my
ex-minister has a church of less than 2,000 people and lives in a million
dollar home - with no other sources of income than the church. I agree
with what you are doing 100% and think that God gave us a brain to use
it - not to submit to mindlessness. I've added you to my list of
charitable contributions and will be sending a donation later this year.
Keep up the great work!

Thanks for all that you do for the integrity of the Kingdom and for our
Lord Jesus Christ. Your organization is quite prophetic. I am saddened by the state of the American Church. But God is Sovereign.
God Bless you!
Pastor Dennis
Thank you for all of your efforts to inform the public.
Keep up the good fight!

I always want to "give with a glad
heart," and feel guilty if I feel suspicious. But this allows me to know
that I'm not so likely to be giving money or time to people who really
don't need it or aren't using it for what they say they will. I'm going
to use your site in my classes (college and high school) to show kids how
they can gather more information to make good decisions about where their
money should go. . . hopfully spreading the Word at the same time.
Thank you for all of your efforts.

I have been a Christian for about 30 years and been very leary about
minsitries so I ask questions, I want to know if the money God blesses me
with is going to do Gods work, I heartly disagree that we should just give
because its Gods money and not be concerned if it is doing Gods work,
blessing. Your
work-mission is greatly needed, keep it up, God is truly blessing your

Good day, I am writing from South Korea and am SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO happy that i found this site. I forwarded your article on Benny Hinn to my sister-in-law, as she has just been to see him in Ireland. She is quite annoyed with me about this as she sees no wrong in what he does. How can some some people be so misled , they cannot see the wood for the trees.
Please continue your work ,

I am SO thankful for your
work. It absolutely makes me sick to see how some of these "ministries"
take people's money and use it for worldly things instead of furthering
God's Kingdom. People like that give Christians a bad name. I am so
thankful that you and your wife put this website together to reveal faulty
evangelists and to help other Christians be better stewards of the money
God has given us.

I give to several ministries and have wondered where the cash
went.I have had a uncomfortable feling about TBN for a while and for
several reasons. I wanted to give because I get most of my christian

be transparent and not hide things. I have gotten no response. What should

Let me personally commend you for the light you shine on the tele
ministries that line their pockets at the expense of unsuspecting donors.
I always knew that they would be judged by their fruits and the
description of their life styles clearly demonstrate this. But even worse
is the outlandishing twisting of the gospel and misleading of their
congregations.
Please keep on the pressure. As Jesus chased the money changers out of the
temple.

Thank you for your time, effort and money to keep the Christian community
informed on what goes on behind the scenes. I am all for Pastors,
Christian workers, authors etc. making a good living. But come on, some
of these people are ridiculous. I have a 70 year old friend that barely
scrapes by, but she makes sure her "favorite ministry" gets something
every month. While that ministry is living it up, she is living only on
the generousity of her children.
I am SO glad someone has made them accountable to those they say they
supposedly serve. Please keep up the good work.
You and your efforts are

I think what your
organization is doing is wonderful. My husband and I are so fed up with
today's church squezzing people for money we started having bible study at
our home. I do miss the fellowship at church but can't stand the pressure
that's put on people to give, give, even if it's your last. My husband is
a ordained minister that teaches to be wise stewards of ones finance and
to be leary of preachers who live like most prosperity preachers do. For
that same reason, he deprive himself from driving fansy cars as he
believes it sends a negative message. It sure would be nice to have a
church to go to that don't misrepresent tithes/giving. We're praying one
day that the Lord will open doors for us to start something on our own and
have people that feel the way we do join us in making a difference in our
community.
I think you are doing a great job and will send a gift offering so that
you will continue to expose the donors alerts.
We will keep your ministry in prayer.
God Bless
Victoria
Hello, I just want to offer a word of thanks for your excellent work. It
is encouraging to me to see that ministries which I have supported in the
past, but have forsaken in order to channel those funds to more worthy
ministries, have received comparably low marks in your evaluation; while
those I have chosen to continue to support have recieved comparably high
ratings. I will definitely keep a bookmark to your site for future
reference, as well as recommend it to others.
In Christ,
Mike
What a great, great thing you guys are doing! Obviously, there is a great need for this type of service as well as a great desire among donors for such information.
I stopped going to church (and subsequently 'gave up' on God) because I witnessed a sham church take tons and tons of money from its congregation, including my parents, in a church just outside of Chicago. At an early age, i became very suspicious of the preacher--and who wouldn't be: the guy owned a huge house, 4-5 luxury cars, him and his wife had plastic surgery done (!), and a wardrobe that was probably worth tens of thousands.
Even though my parents were 'senior members' (read "the most generous givers"), once when i made very surface inquiries, i was shown the door by the security guards (yes, security guards) and asked to never come back and 'mind my own business, if i knew what was good for me'.
Well, i do know what's good for me, and it doesn't involve that church. Unfortunately, it hasn't involved ANY church since i 'left' that church in Chicagoland. In fact, i've been in church only three times since then, and all three times have been for weddings. I'm just now begining to find myself back to God (almost ten years later) but get physically ill when i start to think about joining a new church. I understand that 'mega-churches' are somewhat the norm nowadays, but i cannot seem to find one that is focused, say, on the word of God and not the size of the building or the bank accounts of the church founders.
I guess my point is: I'm absolutely thrilled with what you guys are doing! After this email, i will be making a good donation, and will continue to do so as long as you're still around--or until there's no longer a need. I particularly like the way the rankings are set up: its objective, based on a standardized criteria; its not unfair, unbiased, or motivated.
In fact, being a christian organization yourself lends great credibility to your service. You don't necessarily grade on theology--which is wise--but only on financial responsibility.
So, thank you for your work--it is truly a blessing. I admire very much your willingness to take on such a huge task, and respect greatly what you've given up to do so.
Chris
I thank you, thank you, and thank you for what y'all are doing!
I am a software company CEO that has similar urges as I have read about
your company--use my skills to bring about a positive change in the world,
not just a positive change in investors' portfolios! I aplaud you all!
My Grandmother gave, and gave, and gave to the 700 Club, and gave, and
gave, until it was way past a hardship for her. I now live in Oklahoma,
and see the same thing going on, somehow, its become to where its Evil to
ask "is this really necessary?" in ministries.
I will give you a grain of thought about how you are making a difference:
I know many back-slid people, many people who reject Religion simply
because they find good enough reason for all the corruption, throughout
history. You can make a difference and take this crutch away from those
people!
What you're doing I think is really great, really the best approach to
de-corrupt the last bastion of blind conformity, as well as give credit
where credit is due to those organizations that are 1000% more effective.
12M$ Glass Church? Yeah, Jesus built a lot of those, and rolled around in
nice cars, helicopters and planes to check them all out.

Thank you for providing this information. I do have one suggestion.
Where possible, it would be helpful to include a section on each ministry

and possibly other key positions within the ministry. Chronicle(s) of
Philanthropy provide this information in their annual column, which I find
fascinating and informative.

We both are so happy to hear that someone is finally standing up and not
allowing christian ministers and ministries to misuse funds that people
entrust in our care.
My husband and I have been in ministry for over 32 yrs. We have ALWAYS
disclosed our funds and the ministry funds.
Infact we never allowed the churches to pay us before they paid ALL the
bills. We believed that if we didn't take care of the bills we would be a
bad testimony to others.
Many times when people wanted to give us things (because we were in the
ministry)
we would say thank you but we would prefer that you give to the church and
then when all the bills are paid we will get paid.
It has always been our belief that you need to be up front not just to the
church nut also to the world. If it might look shady, it's not worth it!
As we tell people "your the Only bible people will read"
If your not being honest to the world how can they trust you? And how can
they trust Jesus. And lets face it Our lord never was dishonest.
Keep up the good work. And now that we know your here we will go to your sight.

God alone knows and sees all; all are transparent and held accountable in
His presence, whether we respond or reveal our true selves.
All of my life, I have given to ministries and causes. Some times I have

Hi Rodney,
Your ministry is wonderful and so very critical in these times.
Sharon
I enjoyed so much your article on all believers taking Billy Graham's place. You couldn't have been more accruate by stating that WE should take his place. It truely is our job.
Also, we are about to see a new generation of ministries emerge that will bring about the fulness of the Gospel, as Christ did during His mission on earth.
The fulness, of course, is the healing and personal miracles that Christ performed, and will perform again through His believers. I'm not talking about the Benny Hinns of our modern society, but those who will walk in the power of God's might as Christ walked. This is the sign of the times. For those who are "in it" for the money will eventually be cast by the wayside, and replaced by those who will fulfill the Great Commission, leading up to the taking away of the church at Christ's coming.
There are those of us who believe that the Christian community is missing the most creditable commodity of our faith: Christ in us. For Christ to receive that recongnition, the Church must come in line with His will and begin to step out in the faith we were commanded to exercise.
Believers will begin, one day, to lay hands on the sick and the dead as Jesus did, with the most amazing results man has witnessed since the first century church.
Thank you for your walk with Christ, and your time for me today.

Subject: Thank you for Existing
Dear WallWatchers,
First of all, I want to thank you for existing. We have been looking for a ministry like yours for a while. It was only until the recent article “Evangelicals in America” in Time Magazine that we noticed your ministry name. As believers and having been in the ministry as pastors, we need the eyes of our fellow brethren to open to what is been happening in ministries that show only a very pretty front.
I am not surprised to see Kenneth Copeland Ministries in the category of “F” ministries accompanied along with some of his personal friends. We were part of that group, in minister’s conferences and everything, but when our church could not compete with the larger churches in donations, we were totally dismissed from their invitations and mail-outs. You should ask the Copeland’s the cost of their new personal home?a mere $20M+. Ask them also about their personal (oh? ministry) planes? $50M+. There is a “rat pack” of ministers that follow the Copeland’s because they like what they see. I will include as many names as I recall being part of that gang?
| Creflo Dollar |
John Avanzini |
| Billeye Brim |
Jerry Savelle |
| Jesse Duplantis |
Keith Butler |
| Leroy Thompson, Sr. |
Keith Moore |

Of course, these ministers justify their personal extravaganzas on “not wanting to loose their anointing” as we have heard them tell us with our own ears. We look back and now wonder how gullible we all were to hear and receive this? and be OK with it. I guess it was because we had such love for them that they took advantage of it. When we began to question their practices was when we began to see in their following many wonderful ministers with great financial needs. Yet, these BIG ministries are comfortable spending millions of dollars personally on themselves and not relieve the burdens of their brethren. If they do help? it is a very, very, very small number. After 10 years as pastors, we had to close our church doors. We begged for their help in instruction but it never happened. Now, being retired? we need financial help to help ourselves to exist which is something we will not see from them.
Thank you again. We appreciate your work and we appreciate you.
Best regards,
Amada

I found your site and think that what your doing is just wonderful. I was shocked at what i've read in your reports on CBN and Joyce meyer as well as rev.Popoff. I have now decided that I will not support any organization that doesn't meet certain criteria. I am still contributing to CBN and Feed the children, but I have a new view on what I donate to now. Recently, I received what appeared to be a worthy cause through Rod Parsley, Breakthrough Ministry and decided to
look up their rating and see that they have received a transparancy grade of F, so I wrote to them and asked why. I will not donate to them until I know more. Thank you for offering this wonderful service.

The following is an account of just two of the many regular calls we receive by telephone:
I was asked to write up an email to you about two phone calls we just received at Wall Watchers. A woman called who was interested in finding a good ministry to donate to that was helping with tsunami relief. She told me that she called Compassion International right before calling us. One of the operators at Compassion directed her to our website and gave her our phone number for information about ministries accepting donations to help those affected by the tsunami. It's interesting that they would direct donors to us!
We also received another call from a man in Boone, NC who was interested in information about our ministry. He said that he had never heard about us until today when he was listening to Fox News. One of the guests on Fox and Friends was talking about donating money to a ministry. One of the people on the show asked how he had figured out which ministry to donate to, and the guest said that he used MinistryWatch.com to find the ministry ranked as number one in our database. He then went on to talk a little about our website!

Dear Rod:
Nice to speak with you today about our interest in developing ministries in Caborca, Mexico. We are missionaries who have worked in Mexico with different ministries short term. Now we have been approached by a large family of Mexican Christians who have considerable land in Caborca, and they all wish to see it developed for the Lord's purposes. Some of them are missionaries in Mexico, and others are interested in serving the Lord down there should they feel called. Some of them live in San Diego, where we are located. An interesting family of about fifty Christians who come together on holidays.
Thanks for your help,

Thank you for your helpful response as I consider where the Lord directs.

Dear Ministry Watch,
Thanks for your service. You are doing important work. I always point family and friends to your website, so that our offerings are going to good stewards of God's gifts. I am interested in seeing information on Shepherd's Chapel.
Thanks,
Wade
Good Evening,
I just learned of your web site this evening. I have spent about the last 4 hours reviewing the many pages in your 3 web sites and am very pleased with what I have seen.
Please keep up the great work that you and your staff are doing.
Jack
God Bless you for your hard work. I just found out about your website and
I know that in the future, when I plan on giving much larger amounts I'll
use your site as a tool.
Thanks!

I am not a believer, at least not in the god most christians have faith
in. But I do believe Ministry Watch is on a moral mission and I applaud
you for it.
I have contributed to your effort in the amount of 25.00. Please keep
up holding the ministrys collective feet to the fire for the sake of all
the good people who want their contributions to go to worthwhile causes.

Subject: Feedback about Ministry Watch - Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU for yielding to God and bringing this subject to the public's
attention. I attend a small modest church in La Porte, TX. I have
always thanked God for our wonderful pastors who preach relationship with
God/ Jesus Christ and serving others as the two most important things in
living out a christian life. They DO NOT preach the "prosperity gospel"
like most of the TV preachers, but live a life of modesty and humbleness.
I believe that a good portion of the TV preachers have allowed the spirit
of greed to enter their lives... and now their deeds done in the darkness
are being revealed by the light. They need our prayers.
I plan list your website as one of my favorites.
May God bless you and Ministry Watch,
Rebecca
Hello Mr. Leonard,
My husband and I are grateful for the service you provide to believers who want to make sure they are giving wisely. From the time World Magazine first introduced us to your ministry we have looked forward to reading articles authored by you and appreciate your "advice." I am writing to ask you about a specific ministry that is new to me. It is called Mocha Club and it is a branch of a ministry called African Leadership. They are members of ECFA and everything there seems to be acceptable. I have checked out the websites for both Mocha Club and African Leadership and like what I see there, but just want to know if there is anything I am not seeing before we give to them. We have a heart for Africa and would like to be a part of relief work/ aid there but want to make sure that the assistance they provide does not include distribution of contraceptives or anything else that might be morally questionable.
Don't know if you can help or not, but I do appreciate your time.
Thank you,
Jennifer
Rod, thanks for calling me yesterday. I will be checking your web site periodically for new developments. ? Jimmy
Dear Sirs,
After reading the Joyce Meyers non- biased information on your site, I
have concluded the following and copied below- an email I sent to Joyce
Meyers as follows:
Dear Joyce,
I was just about to tithe $200.00 to your organization from our first
income from over 13 months of no real income. I cannot do it. We love your
anointing, however the income level and return of your own monies and the
non-transparency of all the finances and whether or not the money is or is
not your personal income (from some products and services) is in serious
question. Although this money donated should NEVER go towards taxes
(render unto God what is God's, not Caesar), I believe that money left
over in your corporation (not used for the ministry or charity), along
with a determined value of compensation for housing etc. should be taxed
just like others- personally. You are entitled to your blessing, just make
sure you do not use your anointing and God's adding to your flock as
personal gain above what He would approve and your followers (and the
world) would accept as appropriate. Pay your personal taxes and separate
your income and gain somehow from the ministry. Do not create some lower
figure of salary to hide the corporate wealth you are amassing. We all
should avoid even the very appearance of evil. Also remember - absolute
power can corrupt.
In Christ, Walt
I just read an article about you in World Magazine which focused basically
on TBN. I gotta tell you I am so glad there is someone like you out there
who is trying to hold these people's feet to the fire. I have never
donated any money to any ministry other than my local church because I
beleive that is where it is needed most. I agree with you totaly that you
wouldn't dare invest in a company without an audited financial statement
but people give blindly to televangelists sometimes to the detriment of
their own well being. I am adding this site to me favorites and am
forwarding a link to my pastor, I only wish I had known about it sooner
D.
If GOD be for you, whom can be against you?
When I saw your interview, I said "Look how the LORD works thru HIS
Saints". You are an inspiration to Christians world over. The HOLY
SPIRIT of The MOST HIGH GOD is so evident in your life.
I just had to say Thank You. I'm motivated to do much more for the cause
of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
May GOD continue to keep you.
IN CHRIST ALWAYS

I think what you are doing is great. For too long religious charities have
been allowed to run in the dark, without question.
W.
I am so happy that there is such an organization as yours out there to
help keep everyone honest in the Christian Ministry Sector. It breaks my
heart when I see some of them come under scrutiny and then we find they
had something to hide. It damages the honest organizations that truly do
use their funds for God's purposes.
Thank you and may God bless you with
many more years of service.
Penny
I would like to thank you for the service you provide and helping to shine
a light on the dark subject of Ministries that are ultimately founded for
personal gain and manipulation.
I am saddened by the fact so many people are fooled by these
evangelist...and cannot see the obvious nature of their true motive:
greed.
May God strengthen your resolve to provide the truth.
J.
Dear Sirs,
I just logged on for the first time and was pleased to finally see a group
question these organizations finances. I applaud your boldness and
discernment!
Nice Job in exposing these wolves in sheeps clothing.
18 years ago I ask the LORD for forgiveness and am truly blessed to be saved.
I look forward to reviewing your website completly.
In CHRIST,

Ministry Watch,
I commend you and encourage you. The ministries you are exposing for robbing God's people are the same ministries I and many others contend with. Because, they are also robbing God's peolpe of the truth.
Keep up the GOOD work,
Robert
Hi,
I just wanted to voice my support for what Rusty is doing. While I am
myself an atheist (personally, I don't believe any religion has it right
yet) I do support holding these evangelical con artists to account. I
don't mind if people want to believe in a higher power, but I hate seeing
others take advantage of that belief.
Keep up the good work!
Cameron
Hi,
Just wanted to say that as a Christian and one who does not support these
'tele-evengilists', I'm very encouraged to hear of your ministry. You're doing the 'right' thing, and I hope there is someway to turn around US
legislation to 'expose' the financial statements of these companies. I
know you've invested a lot into your business (w/o earning a salary), but
I know this is a worthy ministry to invest in and God will provide. Thanks
for being a light and an encouragement to my life. God bless and keep at it!
Eugene
Thank you for continuing to expose "wolf" ministries. I read TBN's press
release, & was sickened by its oily charm, knowing that many will believe
what they want to believe, rather than the uncomfortable truth. God bless
you all.
L.
Dear Ministry Watch, what an interesting work you've done here! I am the
grant administrator for a family foundation in north Texas and can tell
you that I only wish I had come up with this idea! From what I can tell,
your evaluations are relevant, unbiased, and full of Godly wisdom and keen
insight. We are commanded by God to be good stewards of everything, not
just money, and you are showing good stewardship with the resources and
knowledge you have acquired. Actually, your information is better than
what I find on Guidestar (website for finding financial information on
nonprofits). Since 990 reporting to the IRS is not required of "churches,"
this leaves a huge open door for profiteers like Benny Hinn and TBN. You
are truly offering an invaluable service that, as far as I know, wouldn't
exist without you. May God continue to bless you in your efforts.
D.
Hi
I really felt I should let you know how outstanding I believe this
ministry is, I have been a Christian for nearly 2 years and have prayed
for this, it is about time good ministries are given deserved recognition
and bad ones are held accountable.
Their are far too many people profiting from the Gospel while the real
work of the Church is not done.
I am currently a Pastoral intern and I really thank the Lord for your
efforts and believe whole heartedly in what you are doing. Please keep pursuing this as God truly needs Christians like you.
Bless you brothers.
Keith
P.S I currently fund a ministry here in Australia that is trying to combat
the man made Gospel, we will do what we can to promote your ministry.

I accidently turned on TBN and Kenneth Copeland was on. He was telling his
listeners that it is written in The
Bible that he is suppose to be "wealthy".
I wonder how much he gives back to the
poor. Makes me long for the days of Tammy
Faye and the air conditioned dog house.

Hi there.
I've recently found your website and it has really been a
blessing to me. I appreciate the integrity of your organization and pray
that it will help the body of Christ to be more accountable to each other
overall.
Thanks again and
God bless you.

Wow! I just ran across your site doing some research and you reall have
eptimized a ministry of helps/governments that keeps everyone accountable
and I applaud you.
I've been wavering back and forth to going into my ministry and your story
has greatly encouraged me. We plan to take donations once our 501-C3 is
complete and would love to voluntarily have you guys grade us.
One of the biggest pushes we have right now is to help find research for a
very rare liver disease (biliary atresia) that has struck our 7th child.
There's hardly any research on it and no one knows the cure. We have more
about in on our website at www.theappointedplace.org.
Anyway, I just had to send you a note thanking you for your actions. We
all need to have accountability partners in some form or fashion as it
keeps us all honest.
I do plan on giving to your organization as well as I know what it feels
like to have a nice income and then have it go away :-).
Keep your head up and keep up the excellent work!
Sincerely,
Manuel
Thank you so much for bringing these Pimps Preacher into the light. I have
been saying this for years the people of the church who listen to these
pimps and givening money to these crooks have done nothing for their
community our children and our elder forks but are building $100.00
million dollar church in the hood just to keep and get a tax break.

Subject: Feedback about Dirty churches/ tithes
God bless you!!! Thank you for the courage to stand up and exspose. I
myself had been led into many of the churches here in Panama City Fl. by
the Holy Spirit himself. I thought that I would find that one who would
"Train me up and Send me out". I had been called by the Holy Spirit to
minister,Every time that I would go into a church, they preached the word,
but would deny the power there of. I found so many scams going on, that
even today, 15 years later, I want to hurl with vehement force! My father
was a preacher in Penn. when I was a baby girl,up to 3 1/2 years of age. I
CAN STILL HEAR HIS MESSAGES, AND THE STILL SILENCE OF THE CHURCH AS HE
TAUGHT.You could hear a pin drop. He was a hard working man with much
integrety...a mechanic by trade. The church voted him out because he did
not have a college education and he wanted to WORK for a living instead of
living off of the money of the tithes.!!!In these last days, God has shown
to me, that these_ are the kind of preachers that He wants to raise up .
(I think He always has !) I exsperienced HORRIBLE things in a local church
that is very tightly knitted to Kenneth Copeland,Creflo Dollar. The
'VEHEMENT Hurl factor' DROVE me to write an article that I would very much
like to get out to the public......it points some of the bad things
out,and allows the reader to distinguish within their own heart....if they
are one of the 'fleeced'. I would be glad to figure out a way to get this
off of an old floppy disc and send it to you, if you are
interested.....for Free! I have held on to this for many years, waiting
for the right time to release it. I have mainly written to you to THANK
YOU FOR THE BOLDNESS, AND IT IS QUITE CLEAR THAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU THE
AVENUES,ABILITY,AND OPPORTUNITIES TO EXSPOSE ! God bless your heart and
soul mightily, Donna Carpenter P.S. Sorry to say, In the last days,
they will follow after signs and wonders and will be willing_ to believe a
lie and be dammed.

Subject: Welcome to Wall Watchers
Good morning,
Our daily paper the "Manate Herald" carried an article regarding your organization. You are an answer to prayer. I have tried to research on my own some of the organizations my husband support, but I was not successful.
Thank you again.
Inge
I want to sincerely thank you and your staff for being committed to such an important endeavor. As a born again Christian and as businessman, I am appalled at the misuse of funds by some charitable organizations. I have often wondered if a watchdog organization existed to monitor such abuse. It’s refreshing to know that before I tithe to Christian organizations I can do some due diligence and research on the group through your efforts.
Blessings,
Max
I love reading the WSJ everyday. The article about your organization was especially delicious. I have watched "Joyce" on TV a few times because she is a captivating speaker. I am in Toastmasters and always admire good speakers no matter the subject.
I attend a Catholic Church and I am suspicious of the way they spend money the parishioners donate. They are starting a new Catholic Church a few mile from us and we attended a dinner there. They used the old line "show your faith with your pocket book". GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I have come to realize though that you can not save people from themselves.
Thanks for your good work.

Subject: Well Wishes
I have little doubt the excesses of the television evangelists of 15 years ago continues quietly under the covers with the more careful ministries.
Like the Mafia of old, they've learned "being in the press" is counterproductive to their "business" of selling wishing and hoping.
One thing I would really like to see is a basic business plan for an average ministry. I don't know what the average membership is in a large ministry where there are millions of dollars moving through the books. Maybe 5,000 to 10,000 members?
Anyway, it would be useful to have an understanding of the basic financial model so it can be used to assess a particular ministry to see anomalies, etc. What does a "real" P&L and Balance Sheet look like? What are the categories for income and expenses? What are the percent contributions on average of each sub-category within income and expenses?
Very Best Wishes,
Bob

They do not have any christian principles, the office of CCF in
Hyderbad, India has a separate room where 10-12 small idols (Hindu)
gods are kept. The bible says that thou shall not have any other gods
besides me. but CCF with its name as Christian does not even adhere to
this, then how can they think of the good news to be proclaimed to the

Thank you for providing means for us to evaluate tv and radio
ministries. I was appalled but not surprised to see that the WORD
FAITH ministries are on the "F" list. Sadly, I have donated to them,
bought books and teaching tapes from some of them. I will NO longer
buy materials from these. There are other good reliable ministries who
sell sound and safe materials. Thank you very much for your work!

What a service you are providing! My light bulb has been dim for
years, thank you, for your shining light. When you know better, you do

a wake-up call. Thank you very much for the enlightenment. I've
been informing everyone I know about your existence.

These difficult times have caused many people around the world, to seek help with their personal lives, they are disappointed with the
problems that are growing at an alarming rate, and they are desperate for
help! Millions are now turning to religion as a solution to their
problems.....financial problems are at the top of the list! The Top TV
evangelists are feverishly promoting their prosperity gospel......make
them rich and GOD will give the donors riches they cannot contain! The
prosperity pastors are twisting the scriptures to justify their riches and
encouraging the donors to help them!"More and more people are desperate
and grasping at straws and want something that will alleviate their pain
or financial crisis," said Michael Palmer, dean of the divinity school at
Regent University, founded by Pat Robertson. "It's a growing problem."
The prosperity gospel continues to draw crowds, particularly lower- and
middle-income people who, critics say, have the greatest motivation and
the most to lose. The prosperity message is spreading to black churches,
attracting elderly people with disposable incomes, and reaching huge
churches in Africa and other developing parts of the world.
While under investigation,Joyce Meyer issued a statement emphasizing that
a prosperity gospel "that solely equates blessing with financial gain is
out of balance and could damage a person's walk with God." Thousands upon
thousands are getting their hopes destroyed by the prosperity gospel, that
is financially breaking them and turning them away from GOD!
Under the tax-exempt radar, many TV evengelists are descretely bringing in
millions of donor dollars, paying their family members huge salaries,
appointing their families as board members and becoming rich and wealthy
at the expense of their donors! NO one knows exactly how much these
pastors are really making! These pastors are hiding their plunder in
trusts, so they further protect their wealth!
I am a Christian, but I think these individuals are taking advantage of
many people and creating riches and wealth for themselves while people in
their own congregation are unemployed and desperate for help!
Here is a story that was recently reported:
The message flickered into Cindy Fleenor's living room each night: Be
faithful in how you live and how you give, the television preachers said,
and God will shower you with material riches. And so the 53-year-old
accountant from the Tampa, Florida, area pledged $500 a year to Joyce
Meyer, the evangelist whose frank talk about recovering from childhood
sexual abuse was so inspirational. She wrote checks to flamboyant faith
healer Benny Hinn and a local preacher-made-good, Paula White.
Only the blessings didn't come. Fleenor ended up borrowing money from
friends and payday loan companies just to buy groceries. At first she
believed the explanation given on television: Her faith wasn't strong
enough.
"I wanted to believe God wanted to do something great with me like he was
doing with them," she said. "I'm angry and bitter about it. Right now, I
don't watch anyone on TV hardly."
I attend Conerstone church here in San Antonio, Texas.Pastor John Hagee is another TV Evangelist (one of the highest paid in the business) that has numerous books, tapes, and all sorts of religous information systems, and makes huge royalties in addition to his
$800,000+ he makes as pastor, he also is chairman of GETV his broadcasting
station of which his family is on the board of directors! Pastor Hagee has
wrote the book on prosperity gospel and is one of the highest paid
evangelists in the business!Several years ago, he told his congregation
that they would be blesssed with their mortages getting paid off by God,
if we helped Pastor Hagee pay off the $18 million dollar debt of the
church, property, TV station, and the Tarpley ranch retreat. We have been
donating money every Sunday since then and Pastor Hagee puts up a church
map that shows the progress being made on paying off the debt. Today,
there is a little over a million left on the original $18 million! This
collection is in addition to the Tithe that is also collected! When the
debt is paid off, then more of the Tithe will be profit to the church and
....to Pastor Hagee!
There has to be checks and balances even for these pastors! Jesus said"
give Ceaser what is due Ceaser and give God what is due god! These pastors
are really no different than the cons and scams that are everywhere! I
think all these Pastors should have to file financial disclosures,
detailing all the revenues they bring in and show how they are "not for
profit spending this revenue" and when they exceed a certain income that
is fair and resonable, they should have to pay taxes on the windfall just
as all Americans are supposed to!
The flocks are being fleeced and its time that something is done!
The TV-evangelists have been taken advantage of their tax exempt status,
created huge incomes for themselves, and taken advantage of poor and
helpless people, with their twisted promises of Godly wealth! The IRS
should step up and address this runaway prosperity, these individuals
should pay to society, the same as the rest of Americans do!

My name is Sharon, and I attend a very small Evangelical Ministry
here in ... The interview was truly an eye opener, and I
want to thank MinistryWatch for sharing this information. I believe that
much prayer is required in these last an evil days. It saddens my heart

of really ministering to the lost have become greedy. What happened to

BRAVO!!! Long story short: my husband is the pastor of a tiny church here
in TN. As is typical in the ministry, we live on slim finances, a very
simple life. One day I found my husband in front of TBN in tears. Benny
Hinn was begging US for a gift of $1,000 so he could upgrade his cameras!
I was furious! My husband was discouraged! Since that day, TBN has been
banned in our home. I am so grateful that someone is shedding light (or at
least trying to!) on this work of iniquity. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK! WE
ARE SO GRATEFUL WE HEARD ABOUT YOU! BLESS YOU,

Hey guys!
Just wanted to let you know how glad I am that you are doing what you are doing. I was looking for a ministry to give to help the hurricane victims. I pulled up your 30 shining lights and looked under relief and development. Great thing is that I can give with confidence because of the due diligence that you and your staff have done. Keep up the good work!

Your office gave me your e-mail address, I, too, am a para. At the moment I am on the Charlotte board of Joni and Friends (I will be going off the board at the end of the year). Today was the first time I realized your ministry existed, your website is very interesting and helpful. I will be visiting it from time to time.
Your office stated you were under the weather, just remember, "God doesn't make great people with easy circumstances". Streams in the Desert is a devotional book, I read almost daily, it has a lot of encouraging messages. It seems as life is from one bump to the next bump and these are what we grow on per Wiersbe.
Have you met, Byron Sellers from the Charlotte office of Joni and Friends? He is a quad and a swell person, someone you might enjoy talking to.
I will pray for you.
Sincerely,
Bobbie Humphries
Rod,
Thank you so much for speaking to me today. As discussed, any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated including the letters you mentioned. I will keep in touch.

Mr. Pitzer:
Thank you for the e-mail related to the above referenced licensee.
Based on my preliminary review of your e-mail, I have to wonder if there may be some form of fraudulent reporting going on. Although not frequent, we do receive reports and tax returns with a licensee's name on them that were fraudulently prepared.
Thanks.

"Those who handle big resources have to be constantly nudged to be accountable to those who provide the money. Wall Watchers and Ministry Watch help stimulate such accountability."

I was so grateful to hear about what you are
doing as I have been tremendously frustrated with how the Body of Christ
is not confronting this issue of greed in the Church. I am a pastor
myself and have seen the blatant worship of money an unaddressed sin in
the American Church at large. Your efforts can aid in leading us to
repentance hopefully. Much work needs to be done I'm sure but your
efforts are so appreciated. Thank you for the sacrifices you make to
address this sin.

"I am struck by the process of evaluation utilized by Ministry Watch and know of its value to grant makers. Business minded donors will find considerable value if they use the Ministry Watch tools to add concrete assessment to their own intuitive and anecdotal evidence of a prospective grantee." "We use Ministry Watch information for our philanthropic clients who make Christian giving a priority. It provides our giving managers another set of eyes in assessing a charity and provides us confidence in our recommendations. The value proposition from Ministry Watch to The Legacy Group is clear."

"A big comparative virtue of MinistryWatch is the historic data in one place. You guys are the best."

"Wall Watchers has proven to be a very useful tool in assisting donors who want to make both informed and efficient use of their charitable dollars to do the most good for the cause of Christ. It allows donors to evaluate ministries using a format that they are familiar with and to acquire the kind of information that historically has not been available to them. Ministries and those who advise donors should notify them of this valuable research and due diligence."

Dear Rusty,
Thanks so much for the e-mail.
We would like to schedule an interview with you some time in the future. I’ll have our radio producers get in touch with you.
Thanks for all you are doing, Rusty, to help individuals understand what ministries are doing with their resources.
God bless you.
Warmly in Christ,
Howard

Rod,
Michael Barrick sent me your name. I just wanted to say congratulations on having the gumption to publish this list. It takes a lot of nerve to single out high-profile organizations and people like this, and more nerve is needed.
If you ever have a spare moment, I'd like to hear more about your work.
Best,
Marty

Wall Watchers is doing a service for all of us by applying to the area of Christian giving, the seriousness of purpose reflected in Wall Street. May God bless the efforts of MinistryWatch. The common goal is to increase effective giving for missions from a pocket-change level to a serious-money level worthy of our Savior Jesus Christ. After all, our Lord was not a piker when the universe was first created through him (Col. 1:15-20), nor was God a cheapskate when He sent Jesus out of love for the world (John 3:16), nor will our Lord be a tightwad in designing the heavenly lodging promised (John 14:1-4) that we will enjoy for an eternity with no tears (Rev. 21:1-4). In the meantime, may we use every aspect of our skills and creativity, even as Wall Watchers is doing, in responding to God's grace in a worthy manner."

"There has long been a need for donors to have quick, easy to understand, and reliable information about the organizations that they wish to support. Too often gathering all of the information that is found at Wall Watchers is very time consuming and frustrating, depending upon the organization involved. I'm thankful that you have taken the time, energy and made the financial investment into this important service for donors and their advisors. I believe that in the next few years that donors will come to understand the importance that due diligence has with their giving. Keep up the great work and thank you for making this service available to us."

"I am very pleased with the information that Wall Watchers provides. In an attempt to make wise and faithful gifts to various ministries, Wall Watchers is an extremely helpful resource for both myself and my clients. I routinely encourage my clients to use the Wall Watchers website as a part of their giving process."

"Morningstar, Lipper and other rating services provide an invaluable service to investors. While not perfect, they are nevertheless extraordinarily helpful. It's about time that Christian donors had a similar resource, as information and market forces can only strengthen good ministries and encourage more and larger donations from savvy believers."

I came across your organization while doing research into some of the more famous televangelists here in Southern California. I own an investigation business, Bulldog Investigations. I'm also a believer and I firmly believe that misrepresentation on the part of large ministries is epidemic in the US.
This is a preliminary email to see if Wall Watchers employs the services of private investigators.
In the field, our reach is southwestern US and Mexico, and our primary AOR is Southern California. Our office is 45 minutes from Dana Point and Laguna Hills, where Benny Hinn's home and production facilities are. You are obviously well aware of the great number of wealthy Christian organizations that have their headquarters or regional offices in Southern California.
We are extremely capable in the area of covert investigations. You can compare our abilities to many of those of a large US government agency. Please let me know if you would like to know more information about Bulldog Investigations.

Thank you for your detailed response. I read the article and it was very helpful. We have several channels on including Daystar that are following the tactics that you mentioned. Therefore, we will be making decisions regarding their future on Sky Angel in the near future.
For example, Daystar has used fog machines as well as minister Steve Munsey (seen on Benny Hinn and others) to raise money from the masses; Mr. Lamb even stating during a fundraiser last May 2003 that "there are there were several people in the audience that had legal problems, but if they pledged to him $10,000 each they would win their legal suits and even make money off of them in a settlement." But then he went on to say if "God doesn't come through for you" you don't have to give me the money. Even sometimes their own theology gets conflicted. When I saw that incident for the first time I was shocked, which is why I started to look into this issue of bizarre televangelist fundraising.
I did note Daystar is not on your web site; you may want to consider them. If I run across any others that I think need to be looked at, I will forward you the information.
Sincerely,
Kathy Johnson

Dear Rusty,
I personally look to Wall Watchers when I need to know something about another Christian organization. Thank you for giving Christians a effective, user-friendly tool.
It's been a year since your last update on Awana. I plan to mail you that update as I know you are as concerned as we are about accuracy and transparency.

I wish all christian ministries were under your oversight so that faithful
donors do not channel their hard earned cash to ministries that already
have more than they need! I was really taken a back on the revelation that
you were able to pinpoint a certain ministry for its lack of
accountability and transparency in financial matters.
Keep this wonderful work up!
Rev. T.
I worked for a large "church" for 24 year as accountant. I know that the
questions you have raised are valid and hope that eventully the spotlight
can be focused on independent churches.
I.
I heard about your organization from the 20/20 special in March. I only
just wanted the program this morning on the internet. I think the
televangelists are finally coming under fire. A big God bless you for
keeping them financially responsible for Gods finances.
My dad used to talk about the abuse of the finances in his own church (he
was a deacon) several years ago, but didn't feel he was the one to
confront the pastor about these things. I would get so angry that my dad
wouldn't confront the source. He would say God will deal with them.
Praise the Lord that God is dealing with "them" through your organization.
Wish I lived near by, I'd drop by and stuff envelopes or something.
God bless,
Robin

I am in the process of planting a church in Springfield, Ma. and am raising funds. I would like to be held accountable and to let donors know that we are being held accountable by a reputable firm. Is there any way you could check us out and add us to your sight?
